Latest title from my backlog, a nice romantic comedy and surprisingly for a high school based show no fan service, not even the default beach scene with the ladies in bikinis etc
Maria The Virgin Witch-it'd been a few years since I last saw this show and the last episode was better than I remembered it to be. I especially liked where Ezekiel chooses Maria to be her mother when she is reincarnated as a human child.
Ace of the Diamond act II -Second Season- Cour 2 episode 14 Having faith.
Dragon Ball Super: Beerus episode 1 Farming and harming.
Mission: Yozakura Family Season 2 Part 2 episode 13 Facing the Father.
The Flowers of Hard Blood episodes 20-22 (Complete. A story which melds competitive shogi with a murder-mystery narrative, this is another overlooked anime from the 2000 that is well-worth checking out.) 4/5
I can see this being the definitive way to experience DBS for sure, a huge improvement over the original series, the visuals are a massive upgrade. I can't wait to see how the rest looks, even Resurrection 'F' which is one of the weakest stories from the series, I'm excited to see in this new style.
Daemons of the Shadow Realm
Episodes 18 to 24
Reminds me of Dead Mount Death Play in that I liked the bad guys as much as the good ones. Except for the pervert with the 2 swords. His pink haired cleaner was a crazy character. Only a cameo from her.
Since I haven't done an update for months, I will post a bit here and a bit there and let other's post in this thread prevent me from just posting several messages in succession without gaps, as I find that a bit easier than trying to post one big update post atm
S-Cry-Ed (English dubbed) - I enjoyed this fun silly action show which I watched an old Bandai DVD collection I'd had sitting around for probably over a decade, but am unlikely to buy the Discotek Blu-ray release as there are other titles that are far higher priority for me. It was a good time though
Princess Jellyfish (English dubbed, REWATCH) - This was great to revisit, and made me want to read the manga (which I believe I have in it's entirety in digital format from a Humble Bundle), I love the jellyfish motifs and stuff about gender and beauty norms pressure, and the characters are an engaging bunch who kept me entertained, the only things I find sad about this are 1. I wish they'd adapted the entire manga and 2. I'm unemployed due to disability so very much dislike when attitudes like "he who doesn't work doesn't eat" are present, though I do acknowledge that it's maybe just meant to be funny and a reference to Future Boy Conan/the early works of Miyazaki and Takahata generally, and might not have been directed at people in my situation. I wish I were better at sewing cuz I'd love to be able to make dresses like the ones featured in the series, I find it very difficult though, like I can make stuff but it's def not on that level. I did crochet some lil baby jellyfish recently-ish for my Friend B's birthday (ok that was in August lol just remembered) XP
