Most of the shows are all fairly low in action, so thought I'd skip onto the next season, but this was the next episode in the Crunchyroll queue, a SoL episode about the guys having a day off!

Can anyone recommend some stuff for me? I realised the other week I haven't actually watched any anime in a while! Let me know what new stuff you've been watching that you'd recommend, or your all time favourites.

for a guide on my likes and dislikes, I've been watching Cowboy Bebop intermittently for a while; some of my favourites are Evangelion, AoT, Tokyo Ghoul, Ghost in the Shell, and Akira. I also got to JJK S2 before I stopped for some reason, so would love to get back into that.

I'll have a think but our Venn Diagram might not overlap much.
The last few years I've mostly watched Isekai/Reincarnated Overpowered stuff and Detectives.
On your list, the only one I've finished is Ghost in the Shell.
Well, apart from Akira but that was probably 36 years ago.

The Ghost in the Shell ep3

It’s a shame they couldn’t have included this one with the cinema preview, it feels like a good episode for showcasing what Saru are doing with the show, covering some impressive action, an irreverent aside with the Fuchikomas and also some world building with the original version of the ‘making of cyborg’ sequence that was so memorable in Oshii’s film. I’d rather that they weren’t covering the the Puppet Master storyline though; it feels like going straight into that (in manga-accurate fashion) is going to limit the scope of how long this version can run - I’d have been happier to see the show get more room to breathe.

I first saw this at SLA in 2018 and have been meaning to re-watch it for a while. I still think it's a great film with some fantastic world building and I love the hard sci-fi edge it has. Yes, it borrows from a lot from Hollywood and other anime, but does so to good effect. I know Polygon Pictures has a very love it or hate it animation style, but I really like it and they've done a great job of bringing Tsutomo Nihei's fabulous manga to the screen.

I've watched all of the Patlabor anime at least twice, and I think it's a great franchise and both the Oshii and Yoshinaga anime are fantastic and have a lot of re-watch value imho.

As for new Patlabor anime. the first part of Patlabor EZY came out in May, I think the second part comes out in the next couple of months.

According to MAL I’ve rewatched the series three times now, still has its charm in spades. Completely forgot about EZY, will check that out at some stage.

Not the greatest!
I found the last few episodes a bit boring.
More fanservice would have lifted it for me. The fanservice was limited to a couple of characters in another Party that had limited screen time.
If the MC had spent time training his party to think on their own, that would have helped. Even near the end he was telling folk when to do something.

I'll left myself getting sucked into S2 when it's on sale and not full price.

I'll admit I struggled a bit with this part.
Hardly any Hibana. ☹️ Although plenty of fanservice.
Stretched out the ending a bit too long for me but I liked the way Shinra got things done.
Obviously, it picked up when Joker appeared. He would be my choice for Jackanory.
My favourite characters didn't come from the main cast.

Now, what am I supposed to do?
Dig out that DVD box set I bought 10 years ago? I watched 1 episode and stopped.
