Virgin Punk: Clockwork Girl - I enjoyed this a lot. It’s only 33 minutes and clearly setting up for more episodes down the line so there is nothing approaching a resolution to anything put to scene. But it uses the run time to have at least 3 really outstanding action scenes that are well-paced and storyboarded. I tend to struggle with action movies because I always feel like they run out of ideas before the end and are just exhausting. All three of the John Wick films I saw felt 20-30 minutes too long, for example. So something that is barely longer than an average episode of television but is always doing something different is closer to what I want (maybe Hong Kong movies will suit me more). The Japanese Blu Ray has the full English dub and it’s rock solid. Virgin Punk: Clockwork Girl is such an ugly name. Virgin Punk sounds fine. Clockwork Girl also sounds fine. The combination of them is really offputting.
