Scarlet (cinema) - 7

I liked this more than the other recent Hosada films. An interesting pitch to volley the titular character between a battle princess out for revenge and a doe-eyed explorer depending on the situation she stumbles into. Solid performances with a script and story that will not blow you away. The other lead character feels underserved in the end as the film struggles to find time to introduce his backstory. This is also another example of a film that opens with a flash-forward that is entirely unnecessary, I'd have used this screen time elsewhere. Animation wise one thing is clear - Scarlet is an anime film that very much lives in world influenced by 2018's Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Not in that films frills and comic effects (also cribbed by 2023's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem) but I think in how CGI can be deployed and still produce something trully cinematic.

One Piece (live-action) (Season 2) - Episode 7 - 8 (Complete)

This was a great time, I already enjoyed S1 a lot and this improved in every aspect I'd say, more faithful as well. All the new cast members were pretty great in their roles with Vivi, Mr. 3, Chopper and Dr. Hiriluk being the stand-outs and Episode 7 was definitely the highlight of this season. Really looking forward to S3.

Beastars: Final Season (English) - Episode 16 - 24 (Complete)

Beastars finally comes to a close and I loved every second of this series, fantastic characters, plot, music, animation and voice performances all around. This definitely has one of the best English dubs out there for sure. If I have one gripe I do wish the ending wasn't so quick, I'd of liked a bit more of an epilogue post the final battle but apart from that, this has been perfect for me personally. I hope this can get a home video release eventually, one of my most wanted shows I'd like to own.

I do wonder how some of the students got into the Advanced Nurturing school, some are not very bright.

A fun show that is a very easy watch.
Comedy, dark plots, boob jealousy and overpowered shenanigans. There is a terrorist organisation but they're not as cool as Nudist Beach.
I do wonder about the title as she could use the blade about 10 minutes in then I don't think I saw it again.👻

Girls Band Cry episodes 11-13 (Complete. I missed this series when it aired back in Spring 2024 so figured to check it out now. It was a solid watch and I’ll check out the film sequel when it comes around.) 3.5/5
