I'm not a fan of this type of animation. I like my cartoons old style.
A lot of fun with the switch in characters.
The Green Lantern is a woman!? What happened to Hal Jordan?
Little bits of nostalgia and in jokes, some I'm sure I missed.
I watched in Japanese and everybody was excellent. I had a wee listen to the English dub and the songs were still in Japanese .
I'm claiming this as it was made in Japan.
Feel free to complain.
 
@Otomo was the original Batman: Ninja any good? I never got round to it.

Have been watching Iria: Zeiram The animation. Just finished Episodes 1-3. Haven't seen it for ages and remember it being great, it didn't disappoint upon a rewatch. What a stunning looking and thoroughly entertaining OVA. The Zeiram live action films are good but I much prefer the anime. The character, mechanical and world/tech designs are great and Iria is arguably even cooler than her live action counterpart. The animation is so fluid and it just looks incredible, anime like this was just dying for the Blu Ray format to come along to show off its true beauty.

Inari Kon Kon episodes 1-10 & OVA (Complete. This was decent though I read that changes were made to the story so may give the manga a read from the beginning.) 3/5

I certainly remember it fondly but can't give any details. I did finish it which is a good sign. I've had the Doom that came to Gotham half finished for a year.

I do know that Atsuko Tanaka played Poison Ivy. I didn't forget that.

Iria: Zeiram The Animation. Episodes 4-6 (End). Damn, they really don't make em like this anymore. The OVA era was so much more creative than the ONA's coming out these days. It's got everything. Badass and likeable heroine with tons of personality. Cool worldbuilding despite a short run time, fantastic action set pieces and stunningly animated. Decent supporting cast of characters, great designs (Zeiram is one of the most unusual, creative monster designs ever- Keita Amemiya is very talented) and I love the way he keeps on changing his form in both the anime and the movies. All the designs in this are great. Everything from Iria's weaponry and gadgets to the grotesque little monsters that Zeiram spawns from himself.

The features on the Discotek Blu are great too. Was cool to see Keita Amemiya talking about his work and checking out his toy collection behind him (He really likes R2-D2). He looks quite different these days though as this interview was recorded in the 90's. His toy cabinet has probably evolved considerably as well.

First time I've watched a new* anime in over a year

Food for the Soul Episodes 1-5

*New as in - Not a rewatch or a continuation. Before this, the last "new" anime I watched were: Alya Speaks Russian and Senpai is an Otokonoko. Both 1 year ago they aired

Considering I used to watch about 5 series a season. Whole of 2024 I watched 10.

So far this year I've watched Bang Dream, Gundam Duck and now Food for the Soul 😿
