Seems to be mostly spinning it's wheels till the next major plot event.
Nice to have mostly low stakes stuff to get back into it though as it was only supposed to be a half year break between seasons rather than a year and a half!

I wonder what the sales figures are like for this show? Usually, HMV will stock one or two of any title on release day. This time, they had 6 Blu-rays on the shelf. Must have high hopes.

A good run of episodes to a decent conclusion to the show. Not groundbreaking, even by the mid-70's given the proliferation of super robot anime by this time but there were some interesting ideas throughout and fascinating to finally fully understand where two great directors started their mecha journeys.
Urusei Yatsura Movie 3: Remember my Love
I really enjoyed this, it was funny, action packed and melancholic in equal measure and was a film that worked on so many levels for me and still had that same feel as the previous Oshii directed films.
Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team - Episodes 1 - 7
One of my favourite Gundam anime and was well overdue another watch.
Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX - Episode 3
I find it interesting how TTGL creates such polar viewpoints, people either love it or hate it, for me TTGL is one of my favourite shows.
One of my favourite super robot shows and one that is very special to me.

I didn't know how TTGL was generally received in anime community, I had the impression it was considered a stone cold classic, which I suppose it is to some people, but it's good to know I'm not the only person who really didn't get on with it. I'll try and write a review today, so check that out if you want my full thoughts on the show even if you don't agree with them!

Dante Makes Cookies ep2
I don’t know. This is a nice enough looking series, but I think the attempts at ironic witty dialogue just make it feel like a Saturday morning cartoon with more gore - maybe if you’re deeply in touch with your inner edgy 12-year old, this is great, but I’m already finding it a bit tiresome. The character art being so clearly modelled on Yoshiaki Kawajiri’s designs gives me a little nostalgia, but on the whole, I feel like I’d rather play the Devil May Cry games instead.
Kowloon Generic Romance ep2
My patience for this has not dimmed, but I do feel like it would benefit from a stronger hook. The hints of a larger mystery are certainly there, but there doesn’t seem to be any great urgency to expand upon that or introduce any clear stakes to it. Heck, the main thing I found myself pondering in this episode was why they wouldn’t have CRT monitors in the office instead of flatscreens, given the retro-futuristic aesthetic of it.

This seems more distinct from Laid Back Camp than I expected, but I’m also not sure it has quite such a broad appeal, at least not yet. Maybe when they get more into photography beyond the vaguely stalkerish obsession one of the main characters has for her former senpai.
