The Dangers in My Heart s2 eps 7-13
Excellent second series, loved Kyotaro's growth and so many sweet scenes. Dipped into misunderstanding territory when the main strength instead was the teenage awkwardness and it's not quite the funniest rom-com, although definitely the sweetest.
Art and animation were as I remembered.
9/10

Sengoku Youko 2nd Season episode 32 Life and country.

The Prince of Tennis: U-17 World Cup Semifinal episode 10 abrupt.

Dragonball ep3-6

As it goes on, I can increasingly see why this wasn’t on kids’ TV here - maybe they just did a good job of covering it up in the version of Z we got on TV, but the original seems weirdly obsessed with smutty gags by comparison. It’s still kind of innocent in its way, it feels quite authentically in tune with the kind of dirty jokes my friends and I would tell each other around the age of ten, but there’d be an awful lot on the cutting room floor before they’d get this on in a UK after-school slot. I’d be curious to know how other countries handled the show, I’d hazard a guess it would probably have been on children’s TV in France and Italy.

Dan Da Dan ep9

Good lord, they put all the spin on that one. That was some of the most creative work I’ve seen on a fight scene in years. Now that it’s hit its stride, this is just a ton of fun all round.
Space Adventure Cobra - Episodes 1 - 7

What a fantastic series so far!!! I've seen the movie a couple of times, but I've had the BD of TV series sat on the shelf for quite a few years and have kept putting other series ahead of it but I need something a different to watch and I am actually a bit gutted I've not watched Cobra sooner TBH, very entertaining and I love the animation and the way it looks, HD really brings all that detail and colour to life and great music as well.

Glad to hear you’re enjoying it - Cobra is still one of my absolute favourites. I think it was really pushing the envelope for TV anime at the time, it’s such a great looking show and a fascinating showcase for Dezaki’s particular directing style. It’s interesting to see how differently it covers the same material from the movie too; the film pushes the psychedelic elements, but the TV version feels more like an old-fashioned adventure serial - it’s much more like Lupin in space.

365 Days to the Wedding Episode 10

Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill (Rewatch) Episode 1-12 (Complete)

Is it Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? V Episode 9

Gingitsune episodes 1-6 (rewatch): sold the BR and thought I'd give it one last watch, but got distracted by other stuff and only made it halfway before the post office opened. Enjoyable, and I can't remember why I decided to sell it now.

As Miss Beelzebub Likes complete series (rewatch): I do enjoy this. I just wish I knew whether the citizens of Hell are supposed to be human or demon, and why they are all living like normal people. Surely the sole function of Hell is to punish sinners? Not to have cherry blossom viewing parties and trips to hot springs. I really need to turn my brain off sometimes, don't I?

Sakura Trick episode 1: One of the few from the MVM mystery boxes I didn't already have, but it's not for me. Were they supposed to sound like chipmunks?

Nana episodes 1-3: Well, I like one of the Nana's (the taciturn musician). The other Nana is a bit of a ditz, who can't seem to survive without a boyfriend (bit like a former housemate of mine).

I'm a bit sick of these kinds of shallow criticisms of women/female characters... I mean for one thing she got groomed by an older dude when she was underage, for another women do not become dismissable or fundamentally unlikeable cuz they commit the crime of not being Strong Independent Girlbosses. Women are allowed to want marriage and family and society is constantly telling them that's what they should want regardless of whether the guy is a selfish abusive jerk or not (as tbh most of the men in Nana, and a disturbing number of the men I've encountered in reality are, and before someone responds by saying women can be bad people too I'm not arguing they can't, but Nana Komatsu isn't a bad person.) I don't put masses of stock in things like MBTI but it's worth noting that she's theorised to be the same type as Tohru Honda from Fruits Basket and it shows, it's just that in the universe she's in there's a lot more reason to be skeptical of people in some ways (as in, Tohru's mum tells her it's easy to doubt so try to be someone who can believe in people, an admirable sentiment but Nana is partly a critique of compulsory heterosexuality and the way men often behave towards their female partners). Speaking as someone who has been a 20 year old (disabled) woman and a rather vulnerable one at that, I could very easily have ended up with a horrible scumbag of a man because I had zero self-esteem pretty much, and I really, really feel for Nana K (I like Nana Ozaki too, for the record, but she doesn't earn any extra favour for me for needing others perhaps less than Nana K does, and speaking as a disabled woman I am continually wary of how people view me in light of how they seem to view women like Hachi).

Look Back (English) - Movie (Complete)

This was a great movie about two young girls becoming mangaka and giving an insight to the mind of Fujimoto.

Beastars: Final Season (English) - Episode 1 - 4

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - Hashira Training Arc (Japanese) - Episode 7 - 8 (Complete)

Took me a while to getting around to finishing this season and overall it was probably the most underwhelming season but not bad and the last few episodes, especially the last, were great. I'm looking forward to the movie trilogy finale of the series.

DAN DA DAN episode 10 (In)ordinary Vanity.

Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? V episode 9 Free.

Negative Postive Angler episode 10 Today and tomorrow.

Rurouni Kenshin -Kyoto Disturbance- episode 34 Warmth.

Trillion Game episode 11 Master of disguise.

Buso Renkin episodes 11-20

As I said I'm only 3 episodes in, and that's the impression I get. Nana has been the one pursuing the men, according to the action so far. And I can see no grooming of her that she didn't welcome. It won't stop me watching the show.

Ghost in the Shell (1995 movie)

I'm reviewing this on a podcast I'm guesting on, and watched in it in 4k this time round. Still a favourite of mine and it has aged so well, it looks gorgeous in 4k, the colour is amazing and GitS becomes the first anime I've bought on VHS, DVD, Blu-ray and 4k Blu-ray!!!

Space Adventure Cobra - Episodes 8 - 15

Thunderbolt Fantasy: Sword Seekers 4 - Episode 9

There was a scene in this episode that made me really laugh out loud!

Ranma 1/2 (2024) - Episode 9

Totally agree,i love Cobra and i am not someone who has to see everything on blu-ray or even 4k but there are some shows and movies that do truly benefit from the upgrade and Cobra is one of those shows that as you say really comes to life,

I bought the Rose of Versaille BD's at the same time at Cobra and I have that next on my watch list as I would like to see before watching the new film that comes out early next year.

Blue Comet SPT Layzner episodes 20-38 (Complete. Another Sci-fi Mecha pick up from Discotek and a solid enough one to end the month on, though not one of the strongest I’ve seen.) 3/5

As whole I really like Layzner (I've seen it 3 times and need to watch my Discotek set for a 4th watch), I think the first half is absolutely amazing and some of my favourite 80's mecha but the pivot at the midway point does take it off the rails somewhat. Did you watch the OVA as the third part does provide a proper ending to the series?

I was expecting more psychedelia in the TV series and get the same Lupin in space vibe as well, it definitely showcases Dezaki's particular style.

Beastars: Final Season (English) - Episode 5 - 8

Dragon Ball Daima (Japanese) - Episode 9

So Majin Kuu, huh? basically a new Majin Buu made with the seed of a Saibaman, not something I saw coming, looking forward to seeing what'll come of the character.

They're definitely going to be an upcoming DLC character for Sparking Zero!

Dragon Ball Daima episode 9 Simple and clean.

Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online II episode 10 Planned assault.

Buso Renkin episodes 21-26 (Complete. An enjoyable fantasy action series that’s been on the watchlist for a while.) 3.5/5

Cannon Busters
ONAs 1-12 (Complete. I usually quite enjoy anime with this kind of setting and while sometimes charming CB was also nothing too exceptional.) 3/5
