31 Days of Halloween Day 22: Wes Craven's The People under the Stairs (1991, Wes Craven) This was a fun and unique horror film that stands out in Craven's impressive filmography

Blood Blockade Battlefront and Beyond
episode 3

The Ancient Magus' Bride
episode 3

A Certain Scientific Railgun S
episodes 9-16 (Complete. [Episodes 17-24 are filler so I left said arc alone for now] The Sisters Arc was a great one, filling in the backstory of the Misaka clones and the Accelerator experiments. This was great fun to watch.) 4/5

Gurren Lagann movie 1 (rewatch)
I love this. I noticed even more clever new stuff the second time around. And that intro... Wow.

Appleseed Ex Machina (rewatch)
I bought this second-hand on BD only recently, so this is the first time I've seen it with the Japanese audio track. The voice acting is the usual high standard we've all come to take for granted, but I've got to say that I found the Japanese script a bit lacking compared to our dub. They really sharpened up the dialogue when they wrote the English adaptation; it's got some great banter in it.

Beyond the Boundary episodes 3+4
Really rather enjoying this second time around.

King's Game 1- Oh boy where to begin on this one. Firstly poorly structured, and poorly paced, after a cliché opening it looks like we'll settle down for a few episodes get to know the chars etc but oh whoa nope oh they're going straight in okay cool I don't give a crap about anyone yet so why do I care? And the char designs are so bland my god. Awful start in everyway, not sure I'll continue on tbh.

Konohana Kitan 1- Okay a pretty fun start the MC is cute as hell, episodes out on Sunday make it a perfect balance with Dragon Ball Super, I'm in.

Juni Taisen 1- Pretty interesting start, I'm in intrigued so far, looks like there could be some fun characters here and the dub already looks to be the simuldub to beat this season, Vic as ADR was a real surprise.

Summer sure was kind of ehh, this season already have to good start with plenty of shows still to stream, excited.

ZZ Gundam Episodes 1-4 (Blu Ray/ Sub)

Off to a good start. Really enjoying the comedic tone and I really like the way it picks up directly after the events of Zeta. As I mentioned to Orgun the other day I now have the opening "Anime Ja Nai" stuck in my head.

For the Crunchyroll Passport to Japan competition I watched a few of the shows.

Recovery of an MMO Junkie ep1
A Rom Com spin on the .Hack/SAO genre. You just knew that the girl in game was going to be a guy in real life. I might come back to this at some point.

Black Clover ep1
Did the MC really have to SCREAM EVERY LINE OF DIALOGUE! Will not be watching any more.

URAHARA ep1
WTH did I just watch? A magical (or what ever the sci-fi version would be called) girl comedy(?) Animation was a bit weird, none of the girls seemed particularly likable and it wasn't funny. Definite no from me.

Food Wars s3 e1
I discovered that you don't need to watch the entire show to get a stamp, so as I haven't seen season 1 & 2 I stopped it after a few minutes.

I've already got Zodiac Wars on the go and I'll watch the rest at some point in the next few days.

Yuki Yuna is a Hero s1 eps1-3 (dub)
A magical girl show with likable characters and funny/sweet moments. Interesting to see a disabled character in an anime, the only other one I can think of is Shoko from A Silent Voice (although that's a manga adaptation whereas YYiaH seems to be an original work). I started watching the dub on Netflix because it is leaving soon, but realised that the second season is sub only at the moment, so have put on my Crunchyroll list to continue season one subbed.

Stranger Things ep 3 & 4
Still gripping even though I know what happens.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 4 Diamond is Unbreakable OVA: Thus Spoke Rohan Kishibe

A neat little self contained OVA, nothing amazing but I liked the slightly different art style and tone in comparison to the Part 4 anime, plus it's just always nice to get a bit more JoJo in animated form. Given that this is based on one of several Rohan short stories, I honestly wouldn't mind seeing some others adapted too. Just, you know, after they adapt the main parts that remain...

UQ Holder-Episode 4

Who'd have thought a show where all the protagonists are immortal could actually have stakes?

Katanagatari-Episode 11

Wonder if they're gonna stick with what happened in the last scene or if they'll back out of it somehow. I certainly know which would be more impactful.

Encouragement of Climb Season 2 Specials-Episodes 1 and 2 (Complete)

That first OVA with the bra shopping was generally just rather uncomfortable to watch but they brought it back with that second episode. It was a clip show but instead of just showing the clips, they expand upon them in really odd and surreal ways. For example, one clip they showed featured 2 of the girls on a train, and originally, that was that, but in the clip show version, they train flies into space, and the two girls see a third girl dressed as a flying squirrel gliding through space. Bizarre but goddamn amazing.

Ep 3 of The Ancient Magus' Bride...still utterly beautiful
Ep 3 of Blood Blockade Battlefront & Beyond....an episodes with stories from the manga
Ep 15 of Shoukoku no Altair
