Winter 2016 Legal Anime Streaming Thread

Concrete Revolutio all over again.

Seriously though what Funimation did was a complete dick move to Daisuki and everyone outside America.

I can see why FUNi did it in the US and I doubt Daisuki care since they get money from FUNi's simulcast too (and their logo is at the beginning of the version on FUNi's site), but I won't hear any anti-piracy complaints from FUNimation any more.

I can forgive not arranging a simulcast, as that's being passive, but they actively screwed with the UK simulcast of Revolutio. There's just something so obnoxious about preventing a legal simulcast and then bitching about piracy. If their international expansion plans do happen and do include the UK, I'll be very disappointed if somebody doesn't call them out for it.

It's a massive shame, because CR is a very interesting show. I think it would be a good one to do a simulwatch of. Lots of potential for discussion, and although I keep complaining about it on the viewing journal thread, I am really enjoying it.

I don't think the season that Kiznaiver is airing in has actually been announced yet. Unless someone can point me to where it says otherwise?
Does indeed appear to be unconfirmed. Kaji Yuki and hibiku are slated to appear at Anime Japan though: https://www.anime-japan.jp/stage/rgb_st ... Category21, and the other shows being promoted on stage are largely Spring shows as you would expect.

Seems a reasonable assumption overall.

>All those broadcast dubs.
I really can't see that being a good idea. I wouldn't be surprised if it further affects the quality of their dubbing efforts and/or subtitling.
I'm still waiting to see what sort of state titles like Seraph and Nourin come out in considering the awful official subtitles when they aired.

I still think that to FUNimation, sublicensing to crummy European companies is what they meant by expanding internationally. Sure, it's better than nothing, but since the UK streaming companies don't seem interested in fan feedback (or streaming anything on time) it's not very helpful.

Unhappy with that list of shows I can't see in a decent way, as always. At least I can drown my sorrows in the endless supply of Conan which is now available.

Either way, somebody's probably going to have to submit themselves to an interview on it at some point. And I'd be very interested to hear how Justin Rojas excuses FUNi's actively ****** behaviour, especially given his anti-piracy statements on the last ANNCast.

Even if they don't do an interview with a UK site, I could quite see them being questioned about it on ANNCast.

I'm pretty confident that Crunchyroll will get the last chunk of Durarara!! x2 and Viewster will get Snow White With The Red Hair. so I'm personally fine. Wouldn't be surprised if Crunchyroll also got Fairy Tail Zero (please not Animax though).

FUNimation said Dimension W would get a simulcast "across the world". I was hoping maybe for something you know that came even vaguely close to that description...
Considering the audience and competitors of the "World Series"...

Nobody knows but it's believed the World Series took it's name from a newspaper. FUNi have no excuse for not being able to use a dictionary, they do actually have those in Texas...

Apparently Funimation is adding the entirety of Durarara!! to their service, not just Ketsu. And it appears they're also including the English dub versions.

In addition Snow White With the Red Hair will also have the first half given the Broadcast English Dub treatment prior to the second half.

Ooof, that's a lot of good shows Funi have again. I can't decide if this makes me feel better about subbing to them, or worse for encouraging them.

Funi did well, they've picked up the shows gathering steam & hype (Erased & DAGASHIKASHI in particular. Though Erased's likely shared streaming along with Durarara)

I'm surprised they didn't pick up Saijaku Muhai no Bahamut, it's very much Funi & I put it down as a definite license. Not that I'm complaining, bf likes the look of the show so if it's on CR he'll be overjoyed.

Hoping Viewster can nab some of these shows as I would like to watch some of em & would rather not go by ..other means to do so.
