You're talking about the "Laughing Man" and "Individual Eleven" compilation movies there... Most people refer to the Oshii films as "GitS 1 & 2".

listen i figured since brotherhood follows the manga more then the 2003 series i thought watching the 2003 series would be a good start since it was first out and brotherhood is closer to the manga thats why i put them in that order i know brotherhood isn't a continuation of the 2003 series its a retelling but i still stand by what i wrote

and the reason why i put the ghost in the shell in that order if you watch the series in the order i made it kinda makes more sense in a way. think about itMotoko Kusanagi leaves after the puppet master fuses with her in the movie and i thought this would be great to watch after 2nd gig and then innocence when Motoko Kusanagi is still missing and in the last movie she makes a return ( thats how i would watch it) that why i put them in that order i know the first movie and innocences isn't part of the series but its like the dragonball z movies you watch them when they get to a point in the series where the movies would take place

It's one thing to inform people of official continuity, but it's quite another to list what order you personally think things should be watched in.

its pissing me off, im watching motto to love ru and im introduced to a flower baby and twins and you have to watch the OVAs before watching motto to love ru, i hope the release the OVAs
 
I know one thing that can be confusing for people is the order of the Love Hina OVAs (in fact, my complete collection had them listed in the wrong order in the case). I think the main confusion stems from people placing Spring before Christmas because well, Spring becomes before Christmas in the year (it's not like there can be more than one year).

It goes like this:
Love Hina (series) -> Love Hina Christmas Special -> Love Hina Spring Special -> Love Hina Again.

That's also the order they aired in. Other than that, one of the only real ways to judge is the references to when the entrance exams are happening (which is a shame because honestly, the Christmas Special would have made a much better conclusion).

To put Ghost in the Shell to sleep, here's the two timelines:
Continuity 1: Ghost in the Shell > Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence
Continuity 2: Ghost in the Shell SAC / Laughing Man -> Ghost in the Shell SAC 2nd Gig / Individual Eleven -> Solid State Society

And for Fullmetal Alchemist:
Continuity 1: Fullmetal Alchemist -> Conqueror of Shamballa -> "Kids" OVA (although by and large, none of the OVAs are considered canon).
Continuity 2: Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood (the movies and all half of the OVAs etc come at unspecified points. The other half of the OVAs happen prior to the series starting, but you'd need to watch the series first to understand them).

Hey. I'm thinking of picking up "Slayers" ..but what order do they go in? I'm gonna get the first season from AOL but if i like it, i'll be picking up the others sooo.. any ideas?

EDIT: This is including the OVA'S/Movies ..I cannot work it out, blurggh.
