Mail vol 1 seemed a bit formulaic as though it was very much written for a sepcific slot in a magazine. Mail vol 2 is much the same but I got into 2 more, I think it knows where it is going better and the stories become more interesting as we learn more about Akiba's powers.
 
And I have now finished MW (which I just discovered is pronounced "Moo", instead of just saying both letters). The ending, much like the rest of the book, was utterly superb. I'm now planning on buying absolutely everything from Osamu Tezuka that Vertical releases. I've already got Buddha vol. 1 (which I'll start on after I've finished reading Case Closed vol. 11). Dororo is coming out soon, and Black Jack will begin serialisation in the summer! Yay!

Yeah, I'm glad I read the first three almost back to back, it started to pull better as it got on.
I often get 2-3 volumes when starting a new series because 1) if it's good must have more now, as well as 2) not everything gets off to a flying start so I'll see you with another and then decide.
With Mail if I'd bought only the first volume the rest would probably still be on a something-to-get-maybe-when-there's-nothing-else list.


Next up: The Yagyu Ninja Scrolls 1 & 2.
