My Switch 2 has arrived and despite Smyths and DPDs best efforts to kill it it works. It looks like it was left in standing water for a significant amount of time.

Will you push for a replacement of the water damaged bits? Will be a pain (especially if they want it back to do a complete swap and then you face system transfer headaches).

In an ideal work they would let you visit a Smyths (if one is close), you hand them a waterlogged box of bits, they crack open a brand new one for you, take the Switch 2 and joycons out, and you do a trade of box and accessories. But the real world is rarely so idealistic.

No, thankfully the water damage to the box is minimal and everything works fine. Funnily the outer console box is less damaged than the inner due being gloss coated.

All arrived safely from Nintendo. Going to be an afternoon of installs and system transfers. Screen Protector application went fairly smoothly too so that’s a bonus.

I was so tempted to get the switch 2, and still unsurewould of been nice to of had an oled screen, but guess thay will come 4 years down the line

My order of the Japanese release of Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust arrived a few days early!



This includes the film and the film’s score on CD, alongside a small art book of the film. Because the film’s original vocal track was the American version with a Japanese dub releasing later it credits both voice casts equally. The disc also defaults to English with Japanese subtitles.

I also managed to get a second hand copy of Demon Deathchase, the third D novel and the inspiration for the film. It’ll be fun to compare and contrast them.

I find the Switch 2 editions to be overpriced for these. The only positive is it runs without having to download the upgrade packs.

You can get Switch 1 carts of both here for €50 each and then it's €10 each for the upgrade packs, or free with NSO Expansion subscription. The Switch 2 physicals are €80 each here.

I managed to get them for around £52 each with a £10 off voucher for each game and 6% off at Argos through my work. I wouldn't have purchased them at the £65 asking price.

I didn't mind paying a bit of a premium, over buying them secondhand+eshop upgrade packs, to have the upgrade pack on cart and a fancy NS2 case for each game.

#02: Nintendo Switch 2 with Mario Kart World

The Nintendo Switch 2 is finally here and it's a pretty neat device. Basically the same as the original Switch in terms of its UI and such, but better in performance. Mario Kart World is a pretty solid game though I don't consider it a 10/10 at the moment after finishing the Grand Prix cups at 100cc. Still happy to own the console and will look into other Switch 2 games over the course of the year.

The two Shein dresses arrived yesterday and they're disappointing - the moon and stars one is nice but not a good fit, it goes on me but the bust part sits too high cuz I ordered a smaller size as they were sold out of the bigger ones, it is a nice dress though apart from that tbf, the other one is made of pretty fabric and the overall fit is better, but the bust lies weirdly as it's got an odd bit at the top of it and the seams are scratchy, so I will be returning both of them, but will wait until the bloomers I ordered have arrived as well so that if those also don't fit I can return everything in one package (more convenient and no return postage costs that way). I have also now initiated and packaged up my Snag return and I have quite a lot of Temu stuff arriving today, which is v exciting!

A friend of mine really, REALLY likes Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. I've rarely heard him being so enthusiastic about a game (and the bits and pieces I've seen him play were indeed awesome), so I had to pick it up as well.

These all arrived from Temu today, am v happy w everything except the floral shoes which are a bit cheap looking so I'll be returning them with the scrapbook that I wasn't happy with from before, and the lipstick which is lovely looking, just too easy to rub off w drinking/eating etc, I will keep it (it was a free gift w purchase anyway!) but wish it was a bit less "lightweight" that way. The t-shirt prints are slightly less vibrant I would say than in the product images but still look rly nice, the abstract pattern shoes are super cool and comfy, and all the stickers are gorgeous and stick well in my journal and scrapbook, I'm also impressed by just how many stickers I got in some of these sets considering what I paid for them

In addition, AMD GPUs do have RT cores of which the 780m has 12 which while about 4 less then the RTX3050 in my laptop can possibly run doom the dark ages better since it isn't bogged down with a 4GB VRAM limit
