I bought sooo much manga in the last month or so, partly cuz I got some from Temu (in English, from local sellers in the UK) w bigg discounts from store credit and money off coupons, I also bought some other comics (as in collected book editions, not magazine-style flimsy single issue trades), and some other illustrated books. I'm really enjoying Cardcaptor Sakura and Sweat and Soap so far! Not read the rest yet, though I have read Volumes 1-2 of Pet Shop of Horrors before getting this one

Got all these as well! The MinaLima illustrated Little Mermaid is so utterly beautiful, very detailed retelling with every sentence as delicate as the little mermaid herself, I think this is probably the most complete English translation of the fairytale that I've read - I haven't read the original language version but it has details I don't remember from other versions, I also really enjoyed reading The Nightingale (also known as The Emperor's Nightingale), which is the second story of the 12 in this collection. Illustrations are amazing as well, prob the best I've seen from MinaLima so far. For those who are wondering, Mary Poppins is unabridged (an illustrated hardback), not started that one yet though. Have already rewatched Ouran and watched Sign of Affection, New Game and Horimiya: Piece of the anime shown here (I've seen S1 of Eupho before but not rewatched it yet since this dual-audio edition arrived, apart from the first ep, I love the dub but I just wasn't feeling it with the series in general at the time so I'll go back to it later)

The last of the recently arrived anime, plus my phonecase for my new phone, a swimdress I bought that is the best swimsuit I've ever owned in every conceivable aspect (fit, comfort, style), but I now won't be going to the event I bought it for, and some cool stuff from Temu - the blanket is cute and soft as hecc, the dressing gown smells musty but washing will take care of that and it will def be warm in winter, fabulous sparkly pink hat just fits (why must my head be so big! cries in not being able to wear cute girly hats) and the kitty gloves, boots and necklace are amazing and I'm really happy with them

Languo Acrylic pens seem good quality from initial tests but I'll be more enthused when I can properly sit down and make art with them (things have been busy recently!), colour changing highlighters are very impressive for the price I really like the effect when u put a lighter top layer on top of a darker base one, postcards and stickers are adorable and mushroom hoodie print quality is a bit poor so I'll be returning it soon or if I don't get round to that prob bung it in textiles recycling

The shipping cost after consolidation fee and extra protective packaging wasn’t the cheapest but the Frank Capra set was the bulk of the shipping cost, and that was less than £90 from Amazon, which is a bargain for 20 films.

I’ll have another shipment heading my way in late early October when the Amazon exclusive ANOES Steelbook set arrives at my locker.

Arriving in the final week of the month are more 88 Films releases. We're starting off with another Lam Nai-Choi film called The Cat (衛斯理之老貓) released in 1992 and while its not rated Category III, the film does feature more bizarre antics that the director's known for. Similarly to Devil Fetus and Her Vengeance, the packaging here offers an o-card sleeve, rigid slipcase, scanavo case, art card and a booklet that includes various essays and illustrations from the films.

And to wrap up the haul, Come Drink With Me (大醉俠), King Hu's 1966 film, has finally been picked up. I've known about this film as early back to when I first started picking up 88 Films releases. The difference here is that the film has been re-released for the 4K Ultra HD format with new artwork to fit in line with their newer Shaw Brothers releases. The limited edition includes an o-card slipcase and poster.

very interested to find out what the subs on the Come Drink With Me 4K are like
I have the bluray version and the subs were terrible, iirc they were provided by the HK side and not done by 88 Films but it put me off buying anything else from them for a long time. I noticed the 4K release page says "With Newly Translated English Subtitles" so hopefully they're better!

Went to a retro convention today in the Netherlands. Picked up these four games. Always wanted to own Super Mario Land 1 & 2 (childhood memories). Wario Land looks hideous, but it's just the outer protective shell that looks ugly. The game itself is in near mint condition. I really like gen 3 of Pokémon (I own Sapphire and Leaf Green) so I went for Pokémon Emerald this time.

Went to HMV and took advantage of the sales at the last minute. Two films from Radince, Dogra Magra and Tattooed Life. Plus 86 on Blu-ray and Hellsing on DVD.
