The DualSense has pretty bad battery life in general. It's not much better than the DualShock 4; about 5-7 hours, I think.I'm going to have to get a new dualsense controller since the battery life in the one I got with the console is complete ass as it only lasts a few hours from a full charge).
Yes as I found out firsthand that optical drives don't last forever. If I were you I'd get a spare one to keep in case it went bad and sony'd discontinued them. Funny thing is that I have 2 dvd players that are going on 18 years old and they still work perfectly. These were actually "purchased" yesterday, but I was too worn out to post it then.

I also got a PS5 slim (disc drive version) since after the optical drive in my PS4 pro decided to become temperamental, I decided to get the PS5 where you can replace the optical drive without having to do major component swapping to make it work (also, I'm going to have to get a new dualsense controller since the battery life in the one I got with the console is complete ass as it only lasts a few hours from a full charge).
This one went from full to low (not signalling low battery, but close enough for government work) in around 2 hours. The DualSense has pretty bad battery life in general. It's not much better than the DualShock 4; about 5-7 hours, I think.
That's the plan, in fact I'm going to get at least 2 or 3 to make sure I have a few in case of failure or I end up getting a PS5 pro.Yes as I found out firsthand that optical drives don't last forever.
