What did you BUY today?

I've still got a little over a year (13-14 months) on my contract, so in all likely hood I will end up sitting out 3G S and probably end up with the next incarnation. It is just too expensive to to buy out my contract unless they unlock the older iphones so I could give mine to my dad or sell it on. Also buying a pay as you go for nearly £575 for the 32 gig to put my sim in is way over the top.

I'm considering gettting the new one on pay as you go and sell the old one if they do the unlocking thing on my old one.

I've cheked on a auction site back home and I can actually sell my used one for only 10% less than a new one. And people complain things are expensive here in the UK....

Pre ordered the Complete Battlestar Galactica Blu-ray. Very glad I waited and didn't buy any more of the DVD's.
It doesn't include The Plan, though, does it? Or, The Webisodes? Also, I love the Region A box set.
It's the same number of discs so I imagine they'll be the same ones as in the US set, which includes both. I can't see them re-authoring the discs specially to cut bits out for the UK. Also the DVD set has a "15" rating but the Blu-ray has an "18" suggestive of more content (unless of course the BBFC have decided that violence in HD is worse - which wouldn't actually surprise me).

As with the Blade Runner 5-disc special edition everyone loved to bitch about, I'm in the minority and like the UK set better. Nice tin box with four digipack-type-things inside.

The US release release has a different box, and as far as I know, that's the only difference (not that ours isn't sexy, because it is.) All I was saying is that it doesn't have the webisodes, possibly because of some stupid legal reasoning which seems to crop up whenever webisodes are mentioned and The Plan, which is an two-hour movie set to air in November or something.

Honestly, I'm just sort've fishing for excuses not to buy it. ;p

I coulda sworn I read that the webisodes were in now. I can't find the damn site now, but it was an official list of the stuff included. I'll link if I find it again. I didn't realise that was what The Plan was, I guess if it's not even been shown yet it's unlikely to be on this set.

I bought an iPhone which I immediately fell in love with :]

Did you get the 3G S or the did you decide to pay less and get the 3G?

If I did not think it would cost so much I would trade in my 3G for a 3G S, just for the extra speed. Before I bought an iPhone I never had a need for a mobile phone, now I still don't really but I just could not live without the mobile internet on the iPhone and its other features.

The Comet in Moominland novel after getting all nostalgic in 'Watched a anime while drunk' thread.
I didn't even read the novels as a child but i've struggled finding the animated version, and reading reviews of the novels, it looks like the exact sort of thing I'll appreciate.

The books are the best incarnation, I think I appreciated them more as an adult than I did as a child. I keep meaning to buy some of Tove Jansson's other books to see what her non-Moomin stories are like, she's always struck me as a very interesting person. I notice they've finally reprinted Moominpappa at Sea too, so they're all available in the UK again.

I've now made up an order for Moominpappa at Sea, The Summer Book, The Winter Book and Fair Play. :)

Whilst reading reviews and getting convinced to order the novel, Moominpappa at Sea and Moominvalley in November looked particularly interesting. Especially Moominvalley in November; from the brief summaries and reviews it reminded me very much of YKK. I thought it best not to skip to the end right away though

i used to love the moomins :p

bought, a footlong subway, a medium sized drink (fanta for the win)
MONSTER HUNTER FREEDOM UNITE

and depending on what i decide tonight....either nothing else.....or a shite load of alcohol that i will only regret tomorrow morning lol.

I got the 3G. I would have liked the 3G S but I don't really think the new features warrant the extra cost. I love that the iPhone is an iPod, a phone, an internet machine, a gaming console, a mini-computer, etc. all in one. It's really, really great! :]

I bought Alpha Centauri for my laptop and The Matrix Revolutions to finish out my collection of that trilogy. Also spent too much money on drink, food and ice cream in town today :]
