This topic is to showcase the dvd artwork (sometimes box set extras) for upcoming UK releases. Anyone is free to post upcoming artwork for uk anime and please do so, just make sure they at least have the company logo (Manga, Beez, mvm) on them, as it still quite commen for retaliers to use existing USA artwork.

This is a really good idea for a topic Dave/Paul. It would be great if people would post photos as well, to show what packaging actually looks like in the flesh - I know that sort of thing can make or break a sale for me. Will upload a decent pic of the Shigurui blu-ray box when my camera has battery power.

Impressions of these covers? Manga seem to have decided against using those ugly (and downright misleading) "Beyond High-Definition" swishes so hopefully they won't appear on Karas and GITS 2.0. sadly I fear the blue Irish octagons will instead. That Blood blu-ray sure is... samey. Couldn't they have picked a snappier quote? Whole paragraphs over my nice artwork are almost as unwanted as the aforementioned ratings stickers. The Death Note and Guyver boxes look pretty cluttered as well. Compare them to Bebop - Beez still can't be beaten on nice, clean cover art.
 
I've not been fond of how the UK Naruto releases are branded as Naruto 'Unleashed'. What is wrong with just calling them 'Naruto'?
 
I think they "Unleashed" is to show they are the uncut and unchanged episodes. Compared to say, the stuff that was shown on Jetix.
 
I still remember chuckling at how the first few sets were erroneously spelled "Naruto: Unleased" on the spines, which brought with it all manner of unusual implications.

I wonder if Shippuden will carry an additional subtitle, too--though I confess that I have my doubts.
 
I figured that to be the reason, but I still don't like it. Still, I shouldn't complain as I was collecting the R1 special edition boxsets since before it was out in R2. 4 headbands, 11 figures, 2 wristbands, a pendant, & bracelet, & a full set of playing cards. :D R2 really ought to have more special editions with gifts.

Green "wood stain" on a cover of a dvd... what were you thinking?!
 
They just ripped off the old Central Park Media covers from when they released Slayers 8-9 years ago as a boxset. The new Funi releases do look much better, but the CPM ones aren't that bad...
 
new artwork for Darker Than Black, Vols.3&4 - probably change like the last one though, right?

Pointless thread, this. Onlime stores have the same pictures up.

The new CB cover art looks better than the old art, though Spike's face looks off for some reason. I think Julia being in colour and the other characers being B&W ruined the previous cover art.

I don't like the DtB art. I hope it changes. Nov. 11 is a cool guy, with Aion's JP voice actor from CC, but the odd angle of his picture makes him look like just another anime pretty boy rather than an ultra cool secret agent.

I agree with that, it looks more like the cover to Ouran High School Host Club than anything else. Besides that it's not really an image that draws interest, catches your eye or even says anything about the show.
