Upcoming UK Anime DVD Artwork!

Liking that Persona 4 artwork. It's worth pointing out that the titles have ended up the right way round on some of Kaze's releases (Black Lagoon 1 & 2, Samurai Girls) even after the 'final' artwork has been posted up here, so it might happen with these releases too.

I prefer the background of the new cover, but I had the Double Play bar. A slip cover would have pissed me off as Milos didn't come in one (like how my Eden of the East is in one but the movies aren't...)

That Banner has got to go. It was bad enough on Welcome to the Space show and GiTs. Destroys the cover art.
I think I'll buy the R1 equivalent every time if they're going to start doing this.
 
It does make the whole cover look cheap and nasty. Surely a sticker or at the very least, a significantly smaller, tastefully-designed banner would be as good? I thought the point of a cover was to catch the eye of a buyer and tempt them into purchasing, not make them frown and put it back on the shelf.

Two UK BD releases I still haven't bought, despite quite wanting to own them. Go figure, as the Yanks would say.
 
Haven't Funimation started to remove the annoying blue bars now on their releases? Here's hoping that Manga starts to remove them at some point.

There should be a new style of Blu-ray cases to include the DVD logo at the top.
 
I think the new Persona 4 art is an improvement for sure.

Regarding the big Double Play banner, agreed I think it's hideous. However by now I've gotten so used to seeing it on Blu-ray movies from the big studios that I just sort of ignore it now. Kinda like when they started putting the Irish video certificates on DVD covers, I absolutely detested them but now I just try and forget they exist. However I'm still a sucker for steelbooks, especially since they tend to leave out the banners and have removable certificate stickers ;)

Hmmm, I wonder if we'll ever see a Triple Play anime release? I don't think I've ever used a digital copy, but I know a lot of people do, it'd be interesting! Then again there'd probably be a load of legal complications before that could ever happen, probably wouldn't be worth it.
 
I don't mind the Double play bar so much on the Kaze releases as they aren't really intrusive.
Although the spines on the Berserk cases are the correct way whilst P4A is wrong, let's hope they fix this.
Also shame that they are using DVD cases :/

Oh well, I probably won't be buying anything Kaze other than Persona 4 due to the NA Dub only incident anyway.
Not a fan of their encoding/locked subs.
 
So is there not going to be a DVD only release of Persona 4? That's annoying as hell. I'll have to wait for the combi pack to drop to reasonable DVD only prices before buying it.

I maybe wrong here but isn't it 17.99 online? Not bad price (I think..)

Yeah, you can get it starting around 17.99, but it's only for the first 9 episodes.
 
£17.99 for 9 episodes on BD & DVD seems fair enough to me. The whole series will probably cost around the same as it would in two separate 13 episode boxes.
 
I really hope Kaze can push though that "Edition DVD + BR" Corner thing, it's far more tasteful than the DOUBLE PLAY nonsense that Manga has going on.

Part of me wonders if that's why Madoka got to SKUs. If that is the case, I can't say I blame aniplex.

Yes the two logo's look pretty nice, and are quite frankly clearer for the consumer than Double Play. I suspect Manga are just following the crowd with the whole double play thing, I see a lot of regular releases with double or triple play banners on them.
