Jerome has just tweeted that the Madoka Blu-ray will be three discs in one case with a slipcover. Oh well.

Aww, guess that still works, I hope they keep the Artwork they have used for the DvD/proposed BR cover. It'd be nice to have something different from the US release and thats a good choice a complete series cover.

Hopefully the BR design can have it's 3 disc set wording kept up on its blue bar too.

Maybe this doesn't point to a singles release later on now

Don't really get the hate for TWGOK's cover, the US art doesn't look massively superior to me.

Not sure about everyone else, but I like how the US cover depicts Keima as a master of gaming and technology on his throne. For me, the other cover makes him look like he's flipping the bird at us because he has a harem! I exaggerate of course, the UK art isn't horrific, but I do prefer the US art.

I dunno, looking at the US cover i'm kinda getting a bad vibe from it, like he's some sinister voyeur or worse looking at some of the screens.

Ah! Bad news I'm afraid. We are unable to run MM Blu-ray box set packaging as shown in this pic. It will actually be a triple disc Blu-ray case with slip cover.

If Aniplex Japan wants then to go back to selling singles after the boxset (any confirmation on that yet?), it would be easier to just let them do it like that >>

I assume the logic is why use extra cases for the box set release when they can easily copy the US cover art when they come to re-release as singles.

Depends on how big a run animplex are letting them get away with, might be no unsold stock. I'm kinda surprised that they are letting them do a box set at all if they are going to force singles later. Someone must of signed something on the Japanses end without properly reading it.

And whether Manga are actually insane enough to release singles after releasing the boxed set. Just because they have the right to do so doesn't mean they will.

...and Nope I don't know what It means either, it really is a long one just for a tagline.

I'm guessing that came from the Japanese artwork. You see plenty of crazy Engrish on Japanese covers.

Yup, the tagline is from the Japanese release. It was also on the American release too.

I understand it though; I wouldn't call it Engrish...it's more, cryptic. As in was her encounter with Kyubey just a mere coincidence, or was she always destined to change the fate of Magical Girls? Eluded to the finale =3.

Fractale cover is hype if it survives.

"The Egg of the King" sounds kind of crappy in English.

Pretty good choice for a box set I think, also does a good job of echoing the original release campaign making you think it's a standard Magical Girl team up show. We also don't know what they chose for the box itself as the slip cover and box itself do not necessary have to use the same artwork.

What they could do is, have the group shot as the slipcover, then have the BD case have Japanese volume 1's cover, with volume 6's as a reversible cover. Even if that means we do miss out in my favourite Japanese BD cover (Japanese volume 4/US volume 2).

Although, why even the US release didn't have the disc featuring Sayaka's as the blu-ray disc confused me. 'cos y'know...blue...blu-ray...

That's a pretty good point, but I still think there's more exciting art they could have used.

Or, you know, at least have a pic with all the characters on. Kyouko's existence surely isn't some sort of spoiler.

They used the American BD disc art for their release. Still wish they had used Sayaka for a blu-ray disc because well y'know...blu-ray...Sayaka's prominent colour is blue...the disc (which is a DVD in the US release) is blue...

This is why it'd be great if they could of carried out their original combi pack plan, we could of had all the disc artwork split between dvd and BR.

If they were feeling sly they could even release the dvd set with the US art to tempt some into grabbing both sets.

Also, remove that 3 disc star, it already says it's the complete collection so theirs no need for it. Furthermore the outerslip cover says 3 discs at the top where it's nicely out of the way of the artwork, seriosuly why bother with a 3 disc star on an area of the case that will not be seen by buyers?
