UK Anime Release Schedule -Updated-

Hurrah - very excited to finally grab a copy of Place Promised.

And fingers crossed for Escaflowne in Q2

I'd like to do Escaflowne late Q2 but suspect Q3 is a tad more likely once we sift through the plethora of material woes we are looking to face there...

Watch this space, tasking a pro on the project though so I'm confident it'll be well managed.

Justin Sevakis comes to my mind from that comment for whatever reason. If it is then I approve. Viz's Accel World and the NIS releases look and sound great.

If Manga have cancelled the collection releases of Fairy Tail that's pretty disappointing as they represented the best value means of owning the show - suppose we'll have to wait and see whether they comment on it.

The Blu-ray Collection sets of Fairy Tail were cancelled at the start of December (source) hence why they don't appear on online listings. It's bizarre why Manga would do this as its the same discs re-packaged.

It was at the same time that Ben-To and Good Luck Girl! were made DVD only.

Although it wasn't confirmed (and still hasn't) it looks like Samurai Bride, which is sequel to Samurai Girls, is also being moved to DVD only.

Yeah, when the Fairy Tail news first came out, I assumed it just meant that the collections would be DVD only going forward - but now it seems they're going to be stopped completely - ie. no DVD or Blu Ray release?

The Collection sets of Fairy Tail (i.e. bundling two parts into a single set) are still being released on DVD; it's only the Blu-ray version that is being cancelled.

If you want Fairy Tail on Blu-ray then (going forward) you'll only be able to buy it in "Part" instalments

Manga Entertainment ... delaying ...

Yeah, I just checked Anime-On-Line, saw some noticeable changes from Manga. The official MangaUK website also already reflected these changes in the official schedule.

Obviously from another thread we know the Evangelion 3.33 release is cancelled, but the Twitter guy reaffirms they still plan on releasing it. (Encouraging? I think not.)

For those looking forward to Samurai Bride, it has been delayed by over 2 months to 6 April 2015. Still to only be released on DVD, screwing those who bought S1 on BD over.

And another delay is the non-anime title: Harlock Space Pirate! All editions have been delayed by a full 2 months to 27 April 2015.

Two month delays?! Christ - sounds like things are properly tits up at Manga HQ right now if that's the case. I wonder what the cause was?

Still? It was originally to be released on BD and this is the first I'm aware of that changing.

For whatever reason Amazon are still saying February 23rd for the regular BD (which is also the only one they don't have cover art for)

--edit--

AoL don't seem to have a listing for the regular BD at all.
Neither does the BVA.

MangaUK never mentioned that Samurai Bride would be going DVD only; however the Blu-ray listing for it disappeared at the same time they confirmed that Ben-to and Good Luck girl were going DVD only.

----

In other news future "Part" instalments of Fairy Tail will be DVD only; MangaUK (or a representative for them) have not confirmed it officially but they did mention to someone on twitter that future instalments would be DVD only (this was in response to Part 9)

Furthermore Battle Girls: Time Paradox has been delayed until 16th February 2015; presumably so that new discs can be created due to the BBFC requesting the series to be cut by 8 seconds on disc 1.

Finally; Ghost in the Shell: Season 2 is getting a Blu-ray release in China/Korea/Asia? and it looks like it will have an English Dub with it; although the main cover looks terrible (it uses a real person).
