UK Anime Christmas Sales for 2025 [Anime Ltd's 12 Days of Xmas + More]

I'd love to know how many the distribution partner has working on AL orders can't be much more than 2 people at the rate they seem to be slogging through orders.

Lime Wood Media's LinkedIn page suggests they have between 11 and 50 employees, and of course we know that they provide packing and shipping services for other labels (how many others, I don't know).

There are at least these:
  • Anime Limited
  • Indicator/Powerhouse Films
  • Radiance Films
  • Second Sight
  • Limelight Collection (Lime Wood Media's own store)
I don't know of others but that does not mean there aren't any more.

The best we can hope for is that those other websites will randomly crash so no one can place orders until Lime Wood clear the shipping backlog. 💀

They're continuing to employ additional temporary staff through this period to maximise staff availability to work through the backlog. They're as keen to get through everything as we are, and hundreds of orders are being shipped out daily, so we're getting there slowly but surely. Again, very sorry for folks that have had to wait so long, and we really appreciate the patience.

I'm back from a couple of days out so I'm currently chasing outstanding stock that is still holding up some orders, which should be the only remaining major impediment beyond pure shipping capacity.

Hope i dont get an email saying some parts are oos and cant get anymore, like gurrenn lagann etc as placed it early enough and others have had christmas orders shipped after i placed this order, that would tip me over, should be done via date orderd but seems its just randomised

I've just had my Complicated BOGOF order dispatch from day 1 (1-2am ish) this morning. Also had a day 7or 8 order dispatch yesterday (was pretty simple so maybe Temp staff get the simpler stuff to aviod mishaps)

So, as I see this kind of thing cropping up a lot in convo across the board at a time like this, here's how order fulfilment works:

The fulfilment warehouse is basically split into two "teams" - pickers and packers. The people picking orders take the correct stock from the shelves for an order, group it all together for that order, then hand it to the packing team who package and box it, seal and label the boxes then move on to where they're collected by couriers for shipment.

This is where the "do every shipment in the order they were placed" demand falls flat - if the picking team work on nothing but complicated orders for dozens of products, then picking each order takes much longer, which in turn means the packing team aren't receiving enough orders to pack and have stretches of time with nothing to do. This is, needless to say, inefficient, and would lead to far fewer orders being shipped out every day.

So, what happens is that the picking team are split between those who pick and handover those older, complex orders, while others focus on smaller, faster to pick orders, to ensure that the packing team are "fed" with orders to keep them constantly working rather than having to stop and wait for more orders to reach them.

This is further complicated by the benefits of optimising the picking teams based on location in the warehouse - it's easier to pick a whole load of orders that all contain "Schoolgirl Milky Crisis" (with apologies to Jonathan Clements) as the basis of their order as it's means less time moving around the warehouse space and more time feeding more orders to the packing team to ensure their work doesn't dry up.

It's a complicated and constantly adjusting dance. As an IT nerd (who used to write about this stuff for a living once upon a time), I think of it like a computer processor or GPU - the hardware has a scheduler that sits and ensures that instructions are sent to the processor (and its cores) in the most optimal way possible to maximise the execution of instructions, as if you just sent everything in order you'd end up with a lot of bottlenecks and reduced throughput, so instead you want to make sure that the processing bandwidth is "full" as much as possible.

Anyway, I realise this isn't something most of you even want to care about as you (quite rightly) just want what you paid for, but these are the kind of considerations at play in making that happen as swiftly as possible - if other people placed their order later than you but their order shipped first, it isn't us being unfair or picking favourites, it's just part of this process of optimising the throughput of the fulfilment team.

Thanks for coming to my TED talk (and if ever you want to doubt my nerd credentials, rest assured that yes I'm this nerdy about knowing everything about everything I deal with)...

My order that was a mix of BoGoF and CE's from Day 3 has shipped. Order included some things that went OOP during the sale

Edit - hanners explained it well

Either way it seems like a mix of easier and more complicated orders are being done. So nothing to worry about

2 of the 3 ordered ony contain 5 items, but still not even shipped, seems they cant deal with anything over 2 items🤣

That's a bit concerning as that doesn't match my records for your outstanding orders at all - drop me a DM with your order numbers in case there's another issue at play there.

I'll still be waiting a while. I only made the one order on the last day to cut down on customs charges and contains 3 mystery boxes and another 4 titles for a total of 19 items.

Ordered one lot of BOGOFs, 12 items, and one lot of Collector’s editions and misc, 8 items on the 2nd. Still waiting for both orders.

Ordered one CE that came back into stock on the 3rd, which was delivered on the 12th.

I know I already tagged you today but just saw this post, and it was helpful. It did explain a lot. Would still like the orders I placed though :P. Sorry, could not help it. But sincerely thanks for busting the "orders will be shipped in order of placement" thing.

Got my remaining two orders cancelled, honestly wasn't too fussed about not getting them anytime soon, appreciate how fast the process was for that at the least.

I DID spend way more than I anticipated so that refund did save my bacon for the next couple of months, so it sorta worked out for me personally
