UK Anime Christmas Sales for 2024 [Anime Ltd's 12 Days of Xmas + More]

I've bought a fair amount from AL this year, about £100 worth. There's some more things I'm tempted by but I'm not sure I really want to spend much more (or have the space for!!).

My First Order was Martian Successor Nadesico, Kiznaiver, Re:cycle of the Penguindrum, Patlabor the Movie 1 & 2, Liz and the Blue Bird, Case of Hana and Alice, Blue Thermal and the Testament of Sister New Devil: Season 1 & 2 CE (for a change >:S)

My Second Order was The Future Diary CE, Penguindrum CE, Planetes CE, Eureka Seven Movie 2 CE and the Snow White CE.

They could pull me in again for a good flash sale on One Piece: Film Red or similar, but I think I'm all done. Was tempted by the Persona movie CEs but I already have the standards still sealed and space is still an issue. As always, thank you Grav for organising the thread, merry christmas and a happy anime watching season to all <3

(If anyone is wondering, my first order was placed on the first day and shipped this morning, and the second one was the second day and shipped on Friday)

Anime Ltd was sent my order so quickly due to this?

Doesn't AL have a French counterpart that could act on their behalf?

Amazon Ireland coming soon we will hopefully be ok going forward
While licenced in Ireland alongside the UK as the rights are bundled no anime titles are rated with the IFCO for sale in Ireland except the Ghibli sets and Crunchyrolls recent movies.

Amazon Ireland isn't going to fix this unless the distributors pay to get their titles rated. The fees are significantly cheaper than the BBFC and are done on a sliding scale depending on expected life time sales.

I was tempted on some stuff with the flash sales but ended up not grabbing anything yet. I still have my cart sitting there and waiting for a spectacular hurray, all the time. Something doesn't sell out LOL. That last one though for today was a kick in the teeth. They won't ship evangelion UE to the US, as I had been trying to get that since its release and they price it cheaper than Crunchyroll and with the flash sale making things even lower, it hurt even more LOL

Do you guys think Emma season 2 (preferably CE, but normal edition is also okay) will still be available next years sale? I though I added it to my cart, but just discovered that it isn't in my order. Shipping costs to the Netherlands are quite expensive, so I rather not buy it now.. Thanks for any advice^^

CE Stock currently sits at 62, and my guess is that after it sells out it will get restocked. I think you will be safe

Is there an offer today?
It's currently another last chance day. I suspect at 5pm they'll announce more flash sales for tomorrow then at 5pm tomorrow we'll get early bird redux day running until 5pm on the 13th when the whole sale ends.
But that's just an educated guess, might be the other way round.

I was wondering that - on the home page yesterday they started advertising the final flash sale day, so I was wondering if they'd doubled up on offers for this period, but as it is past 9am and no product has been added I think they put that up by mistake.

EDIT: the EVA UE seems to be exempt from free shipping, though it's not mentioned on the page.
Messaged AL with the request to refund the shipping costs, so let's see where this goes.
Sorry to repost, but how many others experienced this "glitch" ordering the EVA box yesterday?
And those of you who contacted AL for changes and/or cancellations: how fast were their replies?

Just got notified that my Utena order from yesterday just shipped, even though my Nadia 4K + Cardcaptor BOGOF order from a few days ago still hasn't dispatched.

These are my guesses for the final flash sale (take them with a pinch of salt, it's just a bit of fun!). I've based these guesses on the kind of products we have seen so far in the previous flash sales, what isn't already on sale (there's only so many items they could be!), products that are around a year old or more, and basically pure hopium.

If we look at the previous two flash sales, we can see that they have kept back, what we shall call, a signature item for the last flash sale product of the day. The first flash sale saw the Nadia UE set and the second flash sale saw the Evangelion UE set in the final spot. Both of these sets I would consider very desirable and popular. Hence they left them to the end each time.

I have also noticed that the flash sale items do not tend to be a random season of a show (e.g., it's not like here's a CE of season two or season three of a random show or here's a random Gundam set, for example), they seem to be largely self-contained series or a movie, that also has the TV series on sale (e.g., Violet Evergarden).

The first sale item has been reduced to £19.99 both times, and seems to serve as a little appetiser (i.e., Violet Evergarden the Movie - 4K UHD + Blu-ray Collector's Edition and Magic Knight Rayearth: The Complete Series Limited Edition Blu-ray)

I would assume the final flash sale will follow a similar pattern. So, with that in mind, in the number one position I would guess a few things:
  • EVANGELION:3.0+1.11 THRICE UPON A TIME - Blu-ray + 4K UHD Deluxe Edition*
  • One Piece Film: Red - Blu-ray + 4K UHD Collector's Edition (honourable mention)
  • To the Abandoned Sacred Beasts - Blu-ray Collector's Edition (honourable mention)
*If I were to guess just one, it would be the Evangelion 3.0+1.11 4K deluxe; simply because we've had the Evangelion TV series on sale in the form of the LE (collector edition deals) and the UE (flash sale). It would make sense to try and entice those who have just bought one of those sets in the sale, by putting a Evangelion movie set on offer.

The second and third flash sale spots are something a little bit more substantial, in terms of price. This year, they've been in the £35 to £50 range. This is probably the hardest one to guess and I'm struggling to come up with a second guess for these spots:
  • ??
  • Makoto Shinkai Anthology - Blu-ray
While only 7 months old, I reckon the Shinkai anthology could be on here for £34.99, perhaps. I'm only guessing that most people who enjoy these films want to own the 4K versions, rather than the standard Blu-rays, and many will already own these in one form or another; hence maybe a reduction is due to try and shift stock.

My selection for the final flash sale item is pure hopium. Unless they've taken a product page down and are planning to bring something back at sale time (like Evangelion UE), I'm not sure what else it could be:
  • Great Pretender Complete Season 1 - Blu-ray Deluxe Edition
Thinking about it now, I suppose the Great Pretender Deluxe set could be in the redux sale. The things that go against this guess is that it's not quite a year old yet (I think all but one flash sale item has been 1+ year old). However, I still have hope! I realised that when Utena LE was in the flash sale in 2023, it was also less than a year old at that point, going by the release date.

I am praying they don't pull a fast one and throw in some random vinyl sets. Vinyl aside, I just can't see any other banger that would round out the flash sale like Nadia UE and Evangelion UE have, other than the Great Pretender Deluxe. As I say though, they could throw a curveball and give us something that currently isn't on their website.

Now, cue all my guesses being wrong 😂

Emma season 2 CE stock I would like to guess will be pretty good (I'm guessing they have more than the 62 in stock mentioned, but maybe the rest has been sent out to other retailers (but of course still possible to have retailer return unsold stock like they did for the last chance)), but just an educated guess.
Season 1 CE has been in 2 mystery bundles so season 1 stock maybe a bit lower and more at risk of OOS.
And of the mystery bundle buyers, not all will grab Season 2 CE (I would guess half at most).
And yeah I would think it'll go up in a future sale, maybe even the easter sale.

And standard edition if it sell well they'll just reprint, if it doesn't sell well then they probably have stock.

For folks who got their package already intl from UK, did they declare the value as the contents MSRP, pre-VAT? I'm not looking forward to hitting customs charges if they charge msrp pre-VAT... bc the mystery box itself is 200+ pounds worth when I paid 40 pounds 😂

It’s had to cos weight sadly again if we had IOSS which we should have by now it’d be a non issue
If they kept using FedEx like they did until the shipping changes earlier in the year the clearance fee would have been €5 as they do their fee as 30% of the VAT charge with a min/max charge of €5/€15.

UPS must be cheaper for them or something
No one cares about us Ireland people though so they don’t think about us
