I picked up the UE last year.
While it’s a little annoying to have the discs integrated into the book (instead of a digipak), I guess I prefer it to just having a pair of standard amarays boxed together.

Do I finally want to pick up and first watch Utena with this deal? I've considered picking up a copy throughout the sale with the standard and collector's edition coming back in stock but I don't really know if I should say screw it and just get it now.

Utena is one of the best shows ever made, in my entirely biased opinion, and even if you don't like it it's referenced in a lot of other shows which came later. So unless a person really hates 90s anime, I think it's well worth a viewing.
