UK Anime Christmas Sales for 2024 [Anime Ltd's 12 Days of Xmas + More]

I'm a bit annoyed by the timing.
At least in my eyes flash sales work better on weekends, as quite a few of the potential buyers are part of the workforce and therefore otherwise occupied during most of the scheduled time slots.
(then again I generally dislike them anyway)

Anyway onward to the guessing game:
I doubt that they'll do two flash sales back to back, so it would make sense to get the EB-Redux tomorrow before another flash sale and then the final "last chance" on the last day.

There is no need to be so rude and aggressive when people have legitimate concerns.
There are perfectly legitimate concerns with this sale, that have already been brought up multiple times. Personally, stuff taking a little longer than usual to ship out in, again, the literal busiest time of the year isn't a legitimate concern in my eyes. Yes, it would be nice if communication would be better (I have complained about such things myself in the past), but realistically, what exactly do you expect them to tell you? "Sorry, it's an incredibly busy time, so shipping will be delayed more than usual."

Based on my order numbers, between December 2nd and the 7th, they've taken on about 3000ish orders. Accounting for orders before and after I placed mine, 5000 orders for this sale alone seems like a fair estimate. Again, based on my past order numbers, that's multiple times more order than AL would usually take in an entire month.

AL themselves also do not ship out orders themselves, Limewood Media do, who also do so for a bunch of other companies, many of whom are probably also pretty swamped (again, busiest time of the year...) and who likely take priority over the relatively small AL. Per Hanners on Discord, orders are also shipped out in a way that is most efficient for them, so if you have a bigger order, it'll likely take longer to ship, or if you have an order with items that aren't immediately on hand, it'll take longer. Some scalpers getting stuff before you sucks, but it is what is, but also, what difference does it make? If I bought something to keep, someone else bought one to sell, but they got it a bit earlier than me, so what? Literally doesn't affect me at all.

Again, just be patient, you'll get your stuff. If you ordered stuff as gifts for Christmas and you don't get them in time, then yeah, valid complaint. If it ends up being a repeat of the 2019 Christmas sale where people weren't getting stuff until March, then yeah, raise hell. But aside from that one year, every year people get cranky that they aren't getting their stuff shipped out within days of ordering during the biggest and busiest sale of the year, and it seems to be happening earlier every year. It's both amusing and a little annoying.

I have plenty of grievances and annoyances with AL, but they are ostensibly still a small company, so I'm not gonna be too hard on them during the Christmas sale when they get swamped with an order of magnitude more orders than usual (that one year aside...). If you really must have something sharpish, then order form Amazon, but for me, the price of the AL sales more than makes up for it.

EB Redux will probably be the last day now I'd say. Too easy to pop in a redux title to bump up the value for free shipping as people are less likely to have already purchased them.

Just to echo this and say my experience so far has been pretty positive. I have placed several orders since the first day of the sale, and received two (although not yet the first order I placed, which was the largest) today. I’m still waiting on the rest. Of course I would love things to arrive more quickly, but I recognize everything I bought was at an incredible price and they are going to be extremely busy trying to get everyone’s order fulfilled from here until Christmas. So if it takes a few weeks for everything to arrive, that seems fair enough to me. I’ve bought from plenty of other online vendors that can take weeks even when a Christmas sale isn’t on. I also appreciate they always do a good job with packing – everything is always bubble-wrapped and nothing arrives damaged.

I do wish very much they would adopt a feature as suggested that allows you to complete orders but hold your shipping until the end of the sale. I live in the UK and shipping is cheap so that’s not a huge issue, but I hate having to employ so many bits of packaging and waste for smaller orders that could have been consolidated. But overall, I feel like they do a pretty good job.

For example, I'm only going to dispatch my upcoming anime haul Stackry US after Christmas as there's a chance it will either get severely delayed or the worst case scenario get lost in the process due to so many people using the service during this time
Unfortunately, I made a mistake in getting my Stackry order sent out at the end of November (consisting of 2 Discotek/Toku Time titles and 1 Media Blasters title bought at their storefront), and after a customs charge payment, it cleared customs last Monday, but I've heard nothing back since, but I'm going to remain patient as it's within the 6 to 15 working days at the moment (plus I've got to allow a 10 day delay after that).

Sorry to go off-topic.

I wanted this but it's a flash sale... pass maybe if Utena complete set crossesover and I can grab both but eh they had the part collections come back too

me thinks today might be early bird redux and they might just announce new EBs anyways

who's to say not much diff between today tomorrow or Thursday though

but I happened to find Mirror in the Lonely Castle CE listing not yet open for PO Lonely Castle in the Mirror - Blu-ray Collector's Edition

Thanks for sharing that, I held off buying the standard edition in the hope a collectors edition would be released 😊

There's a CE!!!
I'm glad the standard edition got delayed enough that I hadn't ordered it yet. I loved this film. Thanks for the info.

I just got a despatch notification for my Day 1 first order consisting of 12 items. In the meantime I have received two subsequent AL sale orders with fewer items in each. If that means anything to anyone.
