Tottenham riot

Rioting because someone was shot by police? well without knowing the complete ins and outs of this, i'll give my 2 penneth - if he was shot then;

1 how? british police don't normally carry guns
2 if the police needed guns then he must have been doing something wrong/illegal anyway.
3 if it wasn't him doing something illegal then he was in the area and its just a case of wrong place at wrong time.

Riots, even though i don't feel too different to mindless violence or peacefullness isn't going to bring the guy back so i'm unsure why so many people are jumping on the bandwagon and going mental. Surely the guy didn't know everyone involved in the riots and looting?

If they where rioting over the government or tax and price of petrol then sure, go f***ing bananas lads, but for one guy to die and this much agro to be happening, it just doesn't add up.

I don't think its too surprising to be honest, many riots and even uprisings all over the world have begun with a local person being murdered.

Although, as Matsumi said there is a clear difference between those who are angry at the police, and those who simply don't give a **** and want to loot some free stuff while they can. And unfortunately the latter is what will give certain people an excuse to ignore and write off the legitimate frustrations.
 
well, either way i'm fine with the mindless rampage. Its only a matter of time till well have civil unrest enough for a uprise or a civil war. The day that bombshell kicks off i'll sit with a twisted grin on my face.

Reason? i'm beyond caring for this country that no longer tries to support those it should. The only support they seem to give is to the lazy bastards who sit on the dole and filling their own pockets with expenses claims. Even the labour party who where always for the working man fell very far down to the depths of power hungry self centred asrewipes that we have in government across the board.
 
Like I said earlier, I don't blame people who are unemployed for their situation. There are only a handful of jobs left for the working class, and middle class jobs are fast disappearing overseas as well. The only areas there seem to be jobs readily available is in caring for the elderly or cleaning for the upper middle classes. So being servants, basically.

What is all this obsession with Marxism?

Britain is one of the most unregulated economies in the world, hence all the banking problems. Socialism is where the government actually controls all the factories and farms. Communism is where there isn't any money and people just work to make the products everyone needs which then get distributed. How is Britain anything like that?

Also, can someone explain to me what Multi-Culturalism is? I hear people use it all the time but nobody ever defines it.

For ten-thousand pounds... What is multi-culturalism?

A - The destruction and homogeneous blending of people's cultural identities (which they are often proud of) into a soulless monoculture through political correctness?

B - Recognising and respecting the different cultures of the people of a nation?

C - When used derogatively, a useful euphemism for racists who don't like other people's cultures?

D - All of the above?
 
Just been sent home from work in Clapham Junction because police reckon that is going to kick off. ******* youth today make me sick. I might not have a job tomorrow because of them. I really feel sorry for the people that have lost homes through.

WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU, VIOLENT YOUTH OF YORKSHIRE? If my workplace burned down I'd get dole money, unlike if I quit or get fired for negligence.

And on it goes. This year I expect an even larger exodus than usual of decent people from our wonderful capital. My sympathies lie with those who can't afford to leave.
 
Why can't we just go back to 1800s when men were real men and and Army majors had mutton chops and when Britain was a proud empire and nation.

What evidence do you have that Britain was less violent in the 1800s?

All the books I've read about the subject suggest it was a lot more violent whether because of Irish immigration issues or general class conflicts relating to industrialisation.

One similarity was that the Right-Wing back then were also declaring that it was the end of the world and that the previous century was so much better. Just like they are today.

Because it was a sexist, racist, corrupt shambles, where people were a commodity to be exploited by the rich. The world has moved forwards since then, but sadly not all the dinosaurs died when they should have. :/
