That's a huge bummer! I could have sworn they said in the past that the BD would be CE too. That really sucks.

Source: Blu-ray.comI believe Funimation may be announcing a DBS dub on Saturday at the FUNimation Industry Panel. They denied it on the IGN interview but at the same time they were hinting at it.

Set to launch internationally at MIPCOM 2015, Toei Animation’s ‘Dragon Ball’ IP returns after 18 years with a brand-new series.
TOKYO -- After a successful start on Fuji TV in Japan, Toei Animation is launching Dragon Ball Super at MIPCOM. Dragon Ball Super is an all-new series and the first to be released in 18 years. Its global debut has been hotly anticipated by anime fans across the globe.
Reuniting the franchise’s iconic characters, Dragon Ball Super will follow the aftermath of Goku’s fierce battle with Majin Buu, as he attempts to maintain earth’s fragile peace. Overseen by Dragon Ball’s original creator, Akira Toriyama and produced with Japan’s Fuji TV, Dragon Ball Super will create a bold, new universe welcoming to fans and new viewers.
Introduced in 1984 as a manga in “Weekly Shonen Jump,” Dragon Ball has evolved into a global brand. Seen in more than 70 countries, Dragon Ball remains one of the most popular anime series of all time.
“Dragon Ball has had such a major cross-generational impact that you can say this new series represents the combined creative efforts of people who have been with the series since the beginning and those whose lives were shaped by it growing up,” said Atsushi Kido, the producer of Dragon Ball Super. “There are few properties where one can say that and we’re very excited to show the international broadcast community what we’ve accomplished.”

It seems to be a Toei Europe speciality, hence why the only Toei shows streaming in the UK are World Trigger (restricted to Crunchyroll premium subscribers only), Saint Seiya Omega and Saint Seiya - Soul of Gold (2 weeks time limited on Daisuki, but indefinitely on Crunchyroll)
NormanicGrav said:I'm curious. With regards to One Piece who owns the simulcast rights? Toei Europe, Manga Entertainment UK or Funimation?
Given this is Toei, no, it doesn't suprise me in the slightest they go about things in the most obtuse and financially destructive manor.Buzz201 said:NormanicGrav said:I'm curious. With regards to One Piece who owns the simulcast rights? Toei Europe, Manga Entertainment UK or Funimation?
Toei Europe has French SVOD rights, despite the DVD rights being handled by Kana Home Video. So I'm guessing Toei Europe has UK rights too...
It's weird that Toei Europe will stream titles for South Africa, but not for the UK. (According to their website, Toei Animation Europe is responsible for the EMEA territories, so Toei Animation Europe is a stupid title.)
