HMV webstore has relaunched.

Hopefully anime gets back up there soon and gives Amazon a rival for pricing :) They used to be great before their administration online. (Plus PURE points too!)

They definitely used to be cheaper than Amazon back in the day - but as soon as they closed the Jersey loophole in terms of tax/free delivery, the days were numbered. I used to order a lot of CDs from them - they'd have stuff for £2-£3 all the time.

I wonder if they're doing it in house, or using a third party fulfilment centre? The overheads for re-setting up all the infrastructure must be reasonably costly, I'd have thought? How do they hope to compete with Amazon this late in the game?

Their prices seem pretty ludicrous at the moment,

Anyone fancy Shana season 1 box-set for £47.99 > http://store.hmv.com/film-tv/dvd/shakug ... olumes-1-6

Ha!

Ha!

Factor in the recent £20 free delivery limit on Amazon, and HMV might very well stand a chance if they can get the word out.

Only anime I can find on Blu-Ray is the Ghibli films in the 2 for £25.
Hmv Ireland seem to be cheaper for the most part e.g HMV are selling Nadia for £55, whereas HMV Ireland are selling it for €70/~£47 and still ship to the UK.

Kaze France versions of certain titles also provide English dub and/or subtitles so if you're fed up of delays and love Kaze, import the French version.:
- Magi: The Kingdom of Magic Part 1 in France on July 15th, English dub and subtitles.
- Nisekoi Part 1 in France on July 1st, English subtitles

Bandai held the license for Nichijou not Media Blasters, and when they shut up shop all their licenses went back to the original holders (the madman release was unaffected because they didn't get their license via bandai).
Thanks, not sure why I thought it was Media Blasters. Maybe I was thinking of Squid Girl or something. So many good shows that need a rescue.

s.2 of Nichijou with no Hakase/Nano segments? Pretty please?
Would that mean no Sakamoto-san? That'd be a bit of a shame. Even worse if we'd have to give up Nakamura-sensei.

I kind of like Nano, although as a side effect I do find Hakase a bit more annoying sometimes (she's just a bit too cruel, even if she doesn't do it out of malice). For some reason, I have the Hakase and Nano character CDs. Hakase's in particular is... interesting. I do quite like Mai's though, she's got kind of a sexy voice.

I wish Crunchyroll hadn't had to remove Nichijou, I want to watch it now.

HMV looks like its a hut group template so may not be as good for competition as we need given amazon's near monopoly now.

edit: although no mention of them in terms etc which others do, so i may be wrong :)

HMV was gone?

Just the website. It was replaced with this weird news and interview based site IIRC. They haven't actually sold stuff on it for ages.
A webstore was put up again for the UK by HMV Ireland and was then rolled into the xtra-vision.co.uk site. HMV Ireland still ship to the UK and can be cheaper as I mentioned with Nadia being ~£47

^There's the actual link since the one posted above is incomplete.
It's shortened, but when I click the link it actually works. (Yours has done it too, I think it's a forum thing.)

I kind of want to watch Super but the fansub I was using for Kai dropped it and there is no legal way to watch it to my knowledge (The video source the sub group were using was ripped straight from Japanese TV) so I have no idea what happens at the end of the Buu Saga. I obviously know that Buu gets defeated somehow but I imagine there is a bit more to it than that. Since Super is a continuation from Z/Kai it would be right after the Buu saga I don't know if I should watch it.

Unfortunately, I don't. I didn't even know they started dubbing the latest season of Kai yet.

As far as I am aware they haven't.... and the episodes show on KIX TV only go up to the end of the Cell Saga (not to mention they are edited).

I believe KIX TV can also be received on Freesat.
