A Blu-ray for Watamote is a no-brainer. It has the potential to probably be MVM's biggest title for years, Monogatari aside. I'm surprised Manga didn't pick the show up to be honest - considering it was one of the best regarded shows of recent seasons.

Fate/Zero? I'd be very surprised if it outsold Accel World as well.

And as for 'best regarded' - most people I talked to disliked it, as did I myself. Far more people dropped the series than most 1 cours anime. I wouldn't consider it a candidate for 'best regarded' based on the feedback on it I've seen - it's not even in the running tbh compared to Kill La Kill, Eccentric Family, No Game No Life, Ping Pong, Nagi no Asukara, Non Non Biyori, Haikyuu (this list is in no particular order, but they're the 7 top candidates for the title over the past year from what I've seen, with Log Horizon and Noragami probably battling for 8th and Watamote perhaps around the 50th mark). Most divisive, perhaps - there certainly is a notable number of big fans of the series as well.

Re: the light novel question.

I've always thought Toradora would be one of the best light novel franchises to release over here. It's popular, relatively short, and perhaps most importantly, it's complete. Especially with NIS now rereleasing it with a dub, I would've thought soon/now would be an ideal time to start releasing the novels.

People, who have the new Kill la Kill release from Aniplex USA, are saying there's no translation for the red text when the English dub is played. Could this be fixed for the Anime Limited release?
Where did you find this info Grav? Is it missing a Signs track, or just subs for the red text?
Going by a BDinfo dump it looks like there is a signs track, but I could be wrong.

I found it on Anime Limited's facebook page. But the thing is I haven't heard about it on the Fandom Post so I'm not sure if it's true or not so atm I'm calling it a rumour.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Seeing as nobody on TFP have posted anything about it, I'm not inclined to believe it until confirmed.
Didn't you order Box Set #1? I was hoping to get your opinion on it (and Anohana).

You do a scan yourself or are you talking about the one on TFP? The one on TFP doesn't look right to me. It has one audio track and is showing a runtime of 48 minutes with a disc size of 15GB. The runtime should be a round 1h 36 minutes for 4 episodes.

Yeah I've got both on order. Somebody's posted about AnoHana already. Everything is as you'd expect, and apparently the OST CD comes with full versions of the TV OP/ED songs too.

The one on TFP. I can understand the runtime since it's just a scan of one file (00000.M2TS) and not the entire disc. It's the same files from the Japanese discs, so you'll have two lots of files like that since volumes 1 & 2 both had two episodes each. I don't know why Japanese audio is emitted from that scan though.

To be honest now I think about it, seeing as AniplexUSA like to split episodes/discs up exactly the same as the Japanese release, I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up with really odd episode count per volume from here on out. Volumes 1 & 2 had 2 episodes each in Japan, whilst every volume after that until vol 9 has 3 eps each. We could end up with a 4/6/6/6/2+OVA split.

EDIT: One of the guys at TFP was nice enough to check:
The disc does have a subtitle option for "English Screen text." I only did a quick spot check of the first episode, but with the English dub & English Screen Text selected, the disc was providing subtitles for the on-screen red text.
False Alarm?

Does that mean that you have to select the English screen text option though, in that it's not the default? Because y'know, having it as a default could help.

The fact we are aware of these delays with KickStarters doesn't mean they aren't there for non-KickStarter releases...
Er, yeah. Difference is that I haven't paid in advance for and helped fund the existence of all those non-Kickstarter releases. I haven't complained about the delayed release of Evangelion 3.33 even though I'd like to own it.

On the subject of Mai Mai Miracle, it would've been helpful for the director to have communicated his wishes for the dub script prior to Anime Limited having written it, thereby sparing them the trouble of re-writing it and avoiding the several month delay for those of us who've already paid and, I imagine, don't really care either way about this new information that's being added to the script (which presumably is intended for a wider audience who... didn't contribute to the Kickstarter).

I would buy the hell out of Watamote if MVM released it on Blu-ray.

OK, I see.

Shouldn't the disc size still be bigger though? Every BDinfo scan I have looked at, the info shown is for the file containing the movie, however the disc size shown is the actual disc size.

Shouldn't there also be 3 subtitle tracks rather than just the two shown? English, Spanish and English signs/songs?

That's what I was thinking. Maybe unlike Funimations discs where the signs/song track is on by default when the dub is selected, on Aniplex's Kill la Kill you have to turn them on in a setup menu.

Mangaranga, when you receive your copy, lets use know.

I thought the new GitS rerelease was supposed to be a Manga UK exclusive? Or maybe that was just the steelbook edition?

False Alarm?

Pretty sure it is a false alarm - but we're working to include a signs track anyway on that front. Pretty frustrated just now as still had no official reply to our release model...or any model!

Apparently the AU release of Berserk Golden Age: The Advent are using the KAZE discs:

The disc is a Kaze UK pressing, complete with logo and BBFC rating. Wonder why the UK release is in October then if the disc is ready to go.

Any News on "Kill la Kill" when it will be released + if there are any Goodies like your French Release?

Hi there! At the moment no. We're still waiting on approvals from Japan re: format. More news as we get it!

So is this (Gurren Lagann: Ultimate Edition) coming out in August? I pre-ordered the second it went up on Amazon, can't wait!

It'll be out in Sept. We're still waiting on approvals for the artbook from Japan. It's the only thing holding us up at the moment.

Is Nerima Daikon Bros. still due out in September? Thought it would have been up on your store!
How long is a bit? 2014 or 2015 bit? XD

We're a bit delayed on that as we're waiting on the extras being sent out on tape here, video looks pretty awesome though!
2014 :]

Happy in a slightly sad way about the delay to #MaiMaiMiracle, but it's for an excellent reason.

We hate delays (as you can imagine!) but this is one of the best reasons for it :] Thank you for your support & good vibes!

when are the cowboy bebop collectors edition blu ray discs going to be available to swap

(In seriousness, we just got the resupply of the second master, so expect news in the next week or so)

Please release the Sailor Moon DVD'S in the UK! It is one of the moat popular animes out there!! I am sure many collectors here in the Uk would buy it too.

Hey please please re-release the Sailor Moon series on DVD here it is one of many millions of people's favourite series that deserves to also come out on DVD again in the UK. It is such a massively loved series and the UK deserve to have it released here too x

Please tell me we will be getting the new sailor moon dvds in.the uk?

I seriously can't believe this to be true. Sailor Moon is one of the most popular animes out there.. I have many friends in the UK that love the show! Please bring it back and support it for them to enjoy!!

Hi there! I heard via you're Twitter account that you are not releasing Sailor Moon here in the UK.........Because it boomed like 13-15years ago. The anime scene has changed dramatically in that time. More and more people in the UK are interested in it and even Cosplay has been mentioned on BBC news. I think the dvd's would sell as there are so many Sailor Moon collectors here in the UK. Even if it were just the old dvd's people would buy them for sure. I look forward to hearing from you x

Sailor Moon is a Viz license. Manga and Viz are practically partners so if anyone were to release it here, it would be Manga.

And given how Jerome's gone on record that he'd rather crush his own balls than release Sailor Moon (It's the perfect metaphor, really) that kinda leaves us SOL.

If it was offered on a plate to them though at a reasonable price - it's not like they'd turn it down though, no?

Wasn't the issue more that it was a) costly and b) legal issues were a tangle, in the past?

The man can't be trusted to not call his customer base are morons for putting two and two together (October 2011 DBZ Leak).

I wouldn't trust him to make Eastenders miserable.
