I'm rather disturbed by his picture, I creeps me out every time I see it.

I did some research and I found out more about this 'Crimson Star Media' company. For those who don't know about Maddox, he scammed people to try and license Hoshizora Kiseki (which was then licensed by Section 23/Sentai Filmworks a year later) under the name BHone/Dakota Smith. Luckily people were able to get a refund from contacting Paypal support. He was on Parole as well, what a muppet to end up getting caught over a disgusting crime, seriously it will damage both the anime industry, the people working for the company including the translator Neil Nadelman and possibly the anime they licensed, not to mention they had licensed a Madhouse title which was to be revealed New Years Day 2014.

There's no evidence he was ever trying to "scam" anyone, that's just what the VAA said and there was already bad blood there. He was, however, hiding his identity and was trying to crowdfund a licence (which is going to make any licensor back out).

We don't know the details, other than his original conviction was for having pictures of children that may have been sexual in nature and it is believed his parole violation is for having pictures of children (sexual or not) found on his computer again - and for all we know that could be pictures of family members in his cache from visiting facebook or something.
 
I kept on saying that Sword Art Online is what is needed to kick off a light novel boom here again.

The way to start really would probably be to have one AAA title (Sword Art Online), then focus on shorter series', like 1-2 volume series' based on already established franchises, like Strike Witches and such.

EDIT: Yen Press have confirmed that the light novels will be released at 3 month intervals.

EDIT 2:
Seven Seas has stated that Baka-Tsuki has made licensing the Index/Railgun light novels a lost cause.

My theory is that they looked at the Bakuman complaints and decided to have a look at all of their current upcoming titles and double check that they have properly translated the episodes, ensuring that everything works, quality stuff. So to ensure that the best quality is produced, they will have to delay their stock to a different date. Like in the gaming industry, if a product feels a bit off then delay it to a few months, fix the issue and then release it to get the best result available. Of course we know they won't add OP/ED lyrics and unlock the subtitles but at least what Kaze could do is make sure it doesn't look like another fail. Heck we have seen every problem a product could have from Kaze from about 85% of all their products from incompatibility, missing extras, audio dropouts to lack of lyrics, JP to FR to EN subtitles and to me personally, no release on Blu-ray (though Black Lagoon, Berserk Film, Code Geass, Mardock, P4, Roujin Z and T&B did get the treatment the rest didn't, mind Bleach TV ofc).

Basically, I believe Kaze are dropping out of the UK market and are making sure that their final products are in a better standard than the ones released so far. Worst case scenario they accidentally release one of them with French language option instead of English and all of the subtitles are in Italian. Berserk in French anyone?

As long as they gun for it and on all frounts, I wish all the best for SAO, AW and any future LN endeavours YP have in mind on top of Haruhi, Book Girl and Spice & Wolf.

As for Seven Seas can barely release thier stuff at all. They made thier bed on that one. Yen have only one real mark on thier name and that's the haruhi ebook region nonsense.

And even then, isn't Haruhi handled by Little, Brown as opposed to Yen Press? I know they're both owned by the same parent company though (The Hachette Book Group).

Edit: Toonami ran adverts for an english version of the Sword Art Online set for Weiss Schwarz after this week's episode. So that's a thing.
 
While Part 5 is being released this December, those who are collecting the imported FUNi versions should know that Part 7 and Priestess of the Phoenix will be out in December.

Yeah, Weiss Schwarz has recently been releasing English sets. I currently own the Puella Magi Madoka Magica deck, but I know they've also released sets for Sword Art Online, Fate/Zero and have Hatsune Miku slated for an English release. You can currently buy cards from chaoscards.co.uk, but they're quite expensive.

It's a plausible theory. If they do leave the UK market that will be yet another anime distributor that has run aground on the rocks of the UK market.
