The Gundam Thread

Crunchyroll Store USA has the Gundam Seed Freedom steel book for preorder. Their FB post says it comes with 4k footage that includes exclusive extended scenes and updated animation.

Oof. I've seen the updated animation and it's bad. They basically redid scenes to more rigidly follow Hirai and it's hideous. Case in point, there's a scene where Lacus is giving a relaxed natural smile. In the redo, her face is now this gaping void like she dislocated her jaw to eat a dog whole.

“Mr Mamdani, how will you insert Gundam Unicorn and the currently releasing Gundam Hathaway series into this curriculum? Surely production order is the ideal way to experience the UC Timeline.”

Finally got around to trying Gundam Card Game at a low level local shop tournie.

....Ehhhhhhhhhhh...

I didn't win a single game, not that I was expecting to or am upset about that. Rather, I just didn't enjoy how rigid it was. What started as good spirited patience ended with me feeling like I was intruding where I didn't belong. To the point my final opponent kept treating me like a child if I didn't do every action to his like.

I'm stuck in a hideously right wing backwater town so thought this might be good for socialising. Instead, it was rigid and tedious.

When Gundam Base opened on Saturday, they pointedly called it the penultimate drop. So unless they already have some PR spin planned, looks like Gundam Base London really does end in March.

Bandai Hobby UK have revealed the prize- for collecting the 7 badges.

An 8th badge and an apron.

...Oof.

How cool is the apron? 🤔

(My current apron is pictured below) :)

I'm now reading Gundam Origin, excellent so far, just finished Volume 3 of 12 of the 2-in-1 omnibus editions from Vertical :)
