This is odd I was meant to have Delivery from Parcel Force today it's the Project a 4k set that I ordered on the 7 last week but didn't i hear the doorbell and no card was left in the Litterbox but It only shipped yesterday they are redelivering it tomorrow I think the tracking is wrong.

The delivery driver likely ran out of time on their route or (more likely) they just couldn't be bothered to finish off their deliveries for that day or sometimes they skip some so they finish in time - so what they do is they mark some deliveries as "attempted delivery" without actually attempting to deliver it.

I had this happen before with a video game I purchased online from SmythsToys, I paid for next day delivery as well. I work from home most of the week and my home office is near my front door, so I always hear if someone knocks or is skulking about outside. Around lunchtime, I got an email from the courier to say "sorry, we attempted delivery and we will attempt a redelivery tomorrow". I was thinking "no you f*cking haven't!", I hadn't heard my door go at all.

I thought: I'm not having that. So I phoned up the local depot and was put through to the operations manager, or something like that anyway. I explained the situation and he said he would contact the driver to see what was going on. About 30 minutes later, I get a knock at the door, and there's my delivery guy, standing there with his tail between his legs, with my package 😂 the guy at the depot even phoned me back to ask if I had received my package. I imagine the delivery guy got a right bollocking from his manager 😅

Best thing is, I complained to the retailer first and they refunded me my postage, so I ended up getting free next day delivery that time! But yeah, it is super annoying when that happens, I hope they do actually deliver it for you tomorrow!

Tbh this sounds like a con as any legitimate business would include the business name and links to their website etc in a job advert. It is possibly above board but one of those things where you have to do 20x the amount of work advertised to earn the minimum amount. Personally I'd give it a wide berth.

Oh yeah I'm not taking it serious in any way. The opening line was supposed to be sarcastic, but reading it again I didn't make that clear enough.
Ah sorry lol I was super flagging when i read your post and went into mother hen mode 😆

I went to London on weds to see my cousin and took this photo, it reminded me of Blade Runner for some reason

Watching the last Grand Tour felt like the end of an era for motoring shows, with the Clarkson/May/Hammond partnership ending on a high.

Anyhow time to put on Nagi Yanagi and do some revision for tomorrow's progress assessment.

London's skyline is certainly looking more cyberpunk these days, but it's a bit too clean. Where's the acid rain and the flare stacks? iirc ICI Billingham has the dubious honour of helping to inspire both Blade Runner and Brave New World: Huxley worked there and Scott was familiar with it because he grew up in the North East.

I started a degree course with the open university in Feb, it's really good, environmental science. I just finished the first module and the second is a compulsory pure science module.
I love science but in a biology and 'things I can see' way, chemistry is like a foreign language to me! If anyone has any decent resources for 'people who somehow scraped through their GCSE science 30+ years ago' i would be super grateful!

Welp, there goes the long term memory. I searched these very forums to see if it could enlighten me regarding where I got up to with Higurashi to find out I apparently watched both Kai and Rei. I don't recall watching Kai or Rei at all. Back to the beginning it is.

Been having my bedroom in the family house renovated recently. So far it's been basically hell on earth for several reasons (only realising the decorator work was happening three weeks prior to the date, moving out a horde of items that frankly shouldn't have even fit in there, space management planning, broken floorboards causing delays, etc.), but I'm finally in a position where I'm really excited to get to work on reconstructing the space.

The walls are painted now, the new floor is in, and pretty much all thats left to do is build up this new Ikea furniture and fill it back up with my egregiously large collections. And having planned it all myself I can't wait to see it all come to fruition.

oo if you're comfortable doing so please do share some photos of the completed look!

Also they have found and recaptured the runaway capybara thank goodness!

Despite a few hiccups during the furnishing process, the room is now like 90% complete.

I got most of my furniture from Ikea and I must say as a first timer buying from there, I get the hype. Everything fits perfectly and is super solid once its all built.

I still have some figures to bring in, plus the whole manga, blu-ray and CD collections. The floors alao a little messy atm, but I'm happy enough with the work done now to show it off a little bit.

I wish I had photos of the old room to compare it with, but frankly it was too cluttered and embarrassing to share anyways.

Ah wonderful job! Yes Ikea is definitely good for fast putting up of furniture. It doesn't travel so well if you have to take it down and put back up a few times but I've done that before and then just reinforced the Billy shelving with extra batons and it works just fine.

So the thing is
How do I get back my general thoughtless enjoyment of anime/superhero films/big ol' splendid huge things without spending the entire time thinking 'Good lord that is like 4 buildings they have destroyed now, so expensive!' or like during Jujusu kaisen they blow out a LOT of windows and thinking 'if I was going to have a trade in that sort of place I would definitely be a glazier' or 'look at what they did to that road, I bet that's someone's route to work or school and if Oxfordshire county council were in charge of it it would take months/years to fix and never quite be the same again'
When did I become so boring 🤣

Finished my Basic Guard Course today, passing the assessment with a score of 174 out of 175. The one question I got wrong was down to using the incorrect wording for a radio message but I knew straight away when that question popped up my mind went blank.

So onwards to the depot to start my route learning with an internal for a 'commercial course' later in the month (the course teaching about tickets) :)

Okay so 3rd update to my room renovating saga. Things have slowed down now but I was definitely wrong when I said the room was "90% complete". Turns out I severely underestimated just how much "stuff" I had because I'm still in the process of getting everything back in. Hopefully if I spend 2-3 hours on it each day though, I can sort it all out by the end of the week.

It has also made me well aware of the fact I absolutely own too much, and in the interest of keeping my new room looking new, I'll probably look to offload a decent portion of my manga collection and some DVDs (at the very least) using the hoard of boxes you can see scattered on the floor. Partly saying this as a heads up incase anyone here would be interested in grabbing some of it. I'll likely make a sales post for the stuff I'm interested in selling.

Doing my yearly drop in lol how is everyone?

I've sort of been lazy with collecting anime last couple years & since it is October I usually rewatch Ghost Hunt but all of a sudden it isn't on CR and luckily I have the DVD but it was a wake up call that I have been relying too much on streaming and I really need to start buying my fav shows again!

Been checking at some of my old BDs and some of them are worth quite a bit for example one of the pre scandal DBZ Kai BDs selling for upwards of $100! Just another reason why I am glad I invested in collecting anime back when, so yeah need to get back on that train!
