I certainly do have a keen interest in Japan, but I by no means accept that they do everything right. You can still be interested in a country's history and culture without showing complete bias towards their ways, and I think you'd have to be totally naive to just love anything to such extent that you can't see past it's misgivings.
(I will say this for the Japanese as well - they make really top-notch drawing pens!

I actually sat down once and went through all the things I could think of throughout the house that are Japanese manufactured. About 80% of my artist materials are, for sure!
