Wasn't sure where to put this, so I'll put it in this handy catch-all thread. Didn't want to post in the bargain thread since it's not anime.
Regarding the Arrow Video summer sale, are there any Japanese films on sale that people would recommend? I'd love to see some Japanese cinema, but I've seen so little and I'm not sure what would be a good buy. Battle Royale and Departures are the only LA Japanese films I've seen (and loved both).
Currently thinking of:
Dark Water
Pulse
Blind Woman's Curse
Black Society Trilogy
Regarding the first two in particular, are they jump-scare-y at all? I love a lot of the themes and atmosphere of horror, but the mere suggestion of jump scares makes me super anxious, which leads to me not consuming much horror media.
I've seen Dark Water, Pulse and The Black Society Trilogy and they're solid pickups. Dark Water is rather eerie? Whilst Pulse isn't quite as good but is still a decent film nonetheless. Can't remember if there were a lot of jump scares or not, but they're more atmospheric in tone. I'll always recommend a Takashi Miike release so the Black Society trilogy is worth a look just for how bizarre yet stylish Mike's earlier works are.Wasn't sure where to put this, so I'll put it in this handy catch-all thread. Nothing to do with the arrow sale or horror, but if you want to experience classic Japanese cinema then I'd recommend films by Akira Kurosawa, Kenji Mizoguchi and Yasujiro Ozu. All three would be in my top ten directors.Wasn't sure where to put this, so I'll put it in this handy catch-all thread. Didn't want to post in the bargain thread since it's not anime.

It’s almost like you work for a company that sells that kind of thing and like there’s a con or something on but neither of that is the case so you... have very peculiar hobbies??While I would love to say my weekend will be spent hiking as I'd usually do or scouting some photography/filming locations, I will instead be packed into a cramped van and heading down to Manchester to sell some wares to folk who enjoy watching the mangas...
And yet it is good. Just relax, you’ll enjoy it.Amazon video went to 1080p as soon as I started a video without making me suffer the lowest quality first. This is new and uncomftorble
Honestly Amazon Video has a better success rate for me than Crunchyroll. Their PS4 app is a travestyAmazon video went to 1080p as soon as I started a video without making me suffer the lowest quality first. This is new and uncomftorble

I’m sure folks could and probably have done worse than wink at them.I was going to say what if I start winking at everyone working behind the stall but that would probably encite security more than my just staring.
I have more dolla to drop on Durarara!! but I'm confused on which set/vol I'll need next. Maybe I can be all damsel in distress like all "can you help me"
Possibly going to wear Kyoko's outfit from Madoka on Saturday. Mood depending. Otherwise I'll just be in a Snorlax print dress or be a civilian.
