That is alot of money. o_O
I only buy boxsets nowadays. I find it more cost efective. Only downside is the wait onviously. It's worth it in teh end like. I spent £84 all together on GITS:SAC Season 2. It was then available for £30 in a boxset... I was would have been devasted if it wasn't for the Tachikoma model, t-shirt and Tin I got with the specials. *gargle*

Right now I'm waiting for the box set of Gurren Lagen! *looks at watch* Come on!

'later mono!

Disappeared for a while there - Typing up a mini-essay in response to the new Nakama Brittanica article. Nice to see it return.
what? =D

I've been watching Shigurui (and... slowly typing up a review. Sorry for the wait chaos) next on my list is Gurren Lagann Vol. 2 and I've naughtily downloaded You're Under Arrest, because I can't find one of the four R1 boxes for less than about £40. If I knew I was going to enjoy it it wouldn't be so bad, but 3x£30 + 1x£40 is a lot of money to spend on something I've never seen.
No worries on Shigurui. It's gory and denser than I was expecting. I'm waiting for the series to be released in full before starting gurren lagann, so it's sitting nicely at my cupboard in the meantime =)

I have everything YUA realeased in english Ayase and I love it all. I wish the other series were released anytime soon as its a really fun series to watch. Strikerman is hilarious whenever he appears.

Go take a look :p Right now mine is the only comment (and a very long one at that), it's a subject that absolutely fascinates me.

New ADV (or whatever they're called now) are releasing series two in R1 in a much more budget friendly form than AnimEigo released the first series very soon, I think. That's another reason I'm less inclined to spend so much on it... Good to hear a positive view though, hopefully my bandwidth usage was not in vain.

have you ever read / watched Ah my goddess?
If you did and liked that, you will probably like YUA, if you didn't you could have tried out with one of the OVAs, which actually give you a fair idea of what the series is like and few to no previous knowledge is required to appreciate.

Not seen any Oh or Ah My Goddess (or the Somerset version - Ooh Ar My Goddess*) but I was aware they had the same creator. Kick-ass policewomen appeal to me more, I have to say. ;)

*This gives me a great idea for a game. Which anime would be hilarious dubbed in which regional accent? Think of one and give an example of how it would sound! :D

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni with a Liverpool/scouse accent.
*whislt speaking in a higher pitch*
There's bin a muuurder! Calm down, calm down!

Well, it's unrealistically nice and I really like Kosuke Fujishima's character designs.

=D hehehe

I'm thinking Shigurui in engrish (and preferably all chars dubbed by one or two actors) - it wold make the show hilarious =D

haha! or maybe Higurashi with a Somerset/Wiltshire accent!

"'ave ye herd o' tha shryne gourds curse?"
"no i ain't herd o' such a thang"

i can't think of other stuff, but most of us have pretty bad grammar, like "i led it down there" instead of "i laid it down there", we kinda speak in a stupid way!

Nah, what would be funny would be Abenobashi Mahou Shoutengai with Somerset accents..
HAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAAA..ha..ha.... huh? wait a second. o_O

The Nuku Nuku OAVs. Oh wait:

If in fact it's technically possible, that was simultaneously the best and worst dub I've ever heard. The distortion only made it better.

As a rare dub watcher, I almost wish they were still that hilariously bad. It would give added comedy rewatch value even to titles I didn't like.

I've heard of School Rumble, but just presumed it was a fighting show about kids beating each other up in the playground...

Oh dear, the term "misnomer" ring any bells? :p anyhow I thought many would have noticed in their local waterstones before hand. You can actually read them in the shop they won't bite your head off. That's how I found out about it.
Seeing Tenma's moe face on the front cover gave away that it wasn't going to be as serious as Ikki Tousen

catgirl nuku nuku... what a misleading title :D I want to see it now :D

Well yes and no, shes is a more of an android with a cats brain installed, so she more behaves like one then acts like one.
EDIT: Oh and here names Nuku Nuku

not as good as this one;
