What a day....

I've lost my temper with Unellmay, Aion and CG, but I usually just write an angry post and don't send it. or start bitching about it with the other mods / admins.
On the other hand, I have a long memory for offences and I'm not a forgiving person. I still carry resentment from posts from two years ago. I know it's unhealthy, but its something I do.
I've been accused of being too optimistic a few times, but emotionless wined up? I don't think so. I'm just good pretending I am maybe
Let me tell you a story. I used to participate in a community back in Brazil where most people were very opinionated and many of them were really stuborn. There was this guy who was adamant that Linux and open source would take over the world and all developers like me, who specialized in proprietary techs, should burn and die.
I've had lengthy discussions with him, some very flamed ones. The guy moved to the UK before me and when I moved, he hosted me for a month at this place. We became best friends vevy quickly.
And that's what an internet forum is all about. Discussing something love/hate. If you know how to respect other people's opinions, even when they differ drastically from you, you might get something in return. There's never been much respect for people's opinion on the internet, so I wisened up and don't really care much most of the time, but try to address me unrespectfully IRL
Edit - it's a bit dead in here today....
Heh, I guess it's the effects of age here 30yo already after all.skikes said:Even this post though, is so level headed. You don't show strong feelings one way or the other, your very analytical, alway seeing 2 sides of an argument.
One sample is the comment CG left for my Tezuka article. After that, I've decided to up my game a bit before I venture writing again.skikes said:I enjoy it, its not something i take seriously. I could never imagine being the kind of person to hold a grudge over a post 2 years though, which probs why you dont do it though.
I'm brazilianskikes said:Did you live in Brazil? You seem to move around alot. What is it you actually do?

lived everywhere around there, then moved to Belfast as my company transfered me, then I changed jobs and lived a few weeks in Cambridge with friends, then I moved to London where I settled down for the time being. In the future, I wanted to live in France or maybe italy.
I'm a programmer specialized in equities trading.

For breaking the site rules a third time. I was never going to ban him just because he was unpopular however last night a line was crossed (post has been deleted).
I don't really want to go into it in public too much due to his heavily disliked status and what happened in terms of drama the last time someone unpopular was banned. He may have acted up a fair bit but I'll still be walloping any threads set up to celebrate his absence :s

São Paulo - a behemoth with 18 million people, so London few like a cozy little town...skikes said:Thats cool... what part of Brazil you from? Dont you miss home? im 3 hours from belfast and i feel like im on the other side of the world lol
I'm stil insecure with my level of english. I'm no illeterate, but I'm stil far from a decent writer. I'll fix this soon(ish), I hope.skikes said:I tried looking for your article and couldnt find it lol and i cant believe you took anything cg said to heart.
I'd rather prefer France to be honest. Exactly because France is a culture that is a lot distant from my own than Italy or Portugal.skikes said:France or italy? why not Portugal, one less language to learn lol I think ill be moving to france in a year maybe a year and half.
Same here. Yesterday seemed even colder than today though.ayase said:Morning all.
Why is it so cold in the shade today? I only put a T-shirt on because it looked so sunny out, only to find that indoors out of the sun it's bloody freezing. I usually take a jumper in case the weather turns, but it looked so nice today I didn't bother...
A merging of cultures indeed. What are your opinions about tea and rain, out of interest?chaos said:Now, when I go to Brazil I end up saying ta to people on the street. Which is really odd

chaos said:"Entrar na bicha pra pegar o cacetinho" in Portugal's portuguese means to get in line to buy bread and in Brazilian portuguese it means to have a homosexual relationship. And nope, I'm not making this up.
