Cisco networking and going in for my CompTIA A+ at the end of the month. meaning my mondays and tuesday are goin to be used up on college and hopefully i'll learn something new. the only thing i learnt from the last course was that the teachers believed i went in for the wrong course and should have jumped straight to the A+ :( if i'd have known the intermediate diploma was such a walk through then i'd have gone for the A+ from the off :/

My CCNA is slowly devouring my soul and leaving me as nothing but an organic subnet calculator. Still...I'm halfway there...even if stuff like OSPF is making me lose the will to live.

Are you really into networking Tachi?

I find it really boring, but well, that's me.
I also find it easier for guys in networking to become managers than the lowly programmers.

But then again, you can find a job at google and have loads of fun with network =)

Also, I hear experts in Cisco have nice pay checks, but same can be said for any new technology on demand.

The A+ puts me as senior as i can get in technician standards. its enough (atleast within the NHS) to get me to a manager of a helpdesk job. earning £36K+ a year. which would be nice.

And for Cisco if i go through it all then at the end i'm hoping to work for ONI based in luton (the UK HQ is in luton apparently) my friend jess (from infants to present day) has got herself a job there and she used to work in telemarkets before so its a good jump for her. it makes life easier as i can use her as a character reference if i try get a job there. (always best to have someone on the inside) and basically i'll be earning a fair amount more than the technicians job in the NHS.

I know its a monotonous route to take Mr.Chom but its one of the best moves career wise. many high "ranking" companies use it. and british intelligence use it. using contacts through the family i could probably get myself a job working for the defence side of britain.

=) Yes, I'm all right. having fun on the forums, I decided to take a job in a charity in the evenings (not getting paid at all, but still good fun) and hosting people at my place using couch surf. Loads going on, but I don't know how to live any other way i guess.

AFAIK, Cisco is used in most of FTSE 100 companies (if not all), so you're on a good track.

I just wish the council would stop paying me peanuts frankly....I'm sysadmin, purchases advisor, and on-call tech support for 5 schools and 5 childrens' centres, 37 hours a week.... £15k (I only wish Coventry or Stafford were hiring, they pay more than Wolverhampton). That's for hardware and software knowledge of PCs and networking, Active Directory Managment, backups, basic SQL, etc. etc. etc.

Mind you, then again...at the moment....kinda happy I'm in just about the only council department NOT firing people, and am finally building up some experience I can use to get better jobs. Plus the job itself is interesting and varied.

The CCNA is done on Wednesday evenings...which is messy in term time (I'm out 3 nights a week, and most weekends)...luckilly there's 3 of us from work that do it...so at least we can drag each other through.

Good person? Not sure. Friend of mine asked for help for the charity she works for and it's only a couple hours a week or two. Last time I did something like that, I've got the whole Urusei Yatsura collection (which is worth around 500 dollars).
So basically giving my time out is just another way for me to show my selfishness =P
Worst case scenario I've learned something or I have a nice thing to put in my CV.

Weirdo stay at my place? well, I'm weirdo myself, so all is good.
I've did things similar before, such as hosting a couple who were moving to London and I've only seen them once in a b'day dinner party of a co-worker.

In the end, they became my great friends. I'm usually positive, optimistic and i try to somehow believe there is still hope for humankind. There will always be the one in a million axe murderer, but in this case I'll just count on my luck.

As for the 1 in 10 jerks / inconsiderate / stupid people, well, I try to filter them based on their profiles, in emails we exchange through the site and my gut feelings. It's working all right so far.

WRT to sex. Isn't everything humans do a search for pleasure? Be it sex or simply a fun good time?
I'm pretty happy with the latter most of the times, but if opportunities to the former shows up, I'm not turning them down provided it's straight. ;)

Oh aye? Well I did take a one year break, came back for a week, then took another one year break. ;P The race is still on & I shall win it. ^_^
 
Racing to 2000 is pointless these days :p all the best titles of this current batch are near the 4000 range :p in fact i'll be quite sad to see the new ones dissappear...not that it matters to me anymore since i was gifted a custom title

See i knew who 10 was...actually i think it was the RX 78 Gundam :p further proof that while the other numbers were crap, from 5000 onwards it was just win..but then again maybe i would say that because i'm a mecha fan ;)

Just had to restart my computer, i somehow lost all my desktop and the windows task bar...got a nice view of my wallpaper though
