The Welsh accent is a very chavy accent, particularly in Swansea, but if still say the valleys are home of the accent as we throw some dialect in there, no one else does. People will still assume from the chavvy sound though

The thing is we don't really hear much of the dialect up here, save for a few words that are variants of the Southern Welsh way of saying things ("llaeth vs llefrith; teisen vs cacen" etc). The kind of stuff in Gavin and Stacey for example, whilst stereotypical, is the kind of stuff you'd be more likely to hear down there rather than "up yuur".

I've yet to hear someone say, "thanks drive!" when getting off the bus!

as for the accent I was of course referring to how we use English. If i day one thing im pretty quiet, but you can clearly hear my dialect if you can keep me talking. And it's "down ova by ther"
and "up ova by yuuurr mun"
