Oh sweet f*** oh sweet Jesus and a gaggle of his Christs. It's a blizzard out there but work never closes. I hope your all cost in your warm beds this morning for I will slit your throats before you get up it's the only way to spend a day like today

Coincidentally enough, I do happen to be in bed. It’s not a blizzard here but it is pretty windy. And cold.

I'm up early (3:45 am here), cleaning up my basement and theater room to get ready for my Monthly Movie Night showing of Dunkirk - I have 6-7 guests coming tonight. I was tired after work and went to bed really early last night, so I've been up since 2 am, lol. I'll probably go lay down now for 2 more hours, before getting back up at 6 for work again.

It's still in the 50's and 60's Fahrenheit over here this week, although they are calling for a snow/rain mix tomorrow morning - but that shouldn't amount to too much and melt away quickly, as it's been way too warm for snow.

Give me your weather or your theatre. I think we both know what you'd choose though

The Continuing cr** adventures of the cap'n at work: last month a belt in the machine I work on got knackered and had to be changed, took ages. Today my operator was able to just lift the belt out of the machine - clean snap. These things are built like China boxing gloves

I don't remember my school being closed because of snow when I was a kid. And this snow is crap for making snowmen although my daughter did find it amusing when she put snow down the back of my coat :D

Well getting into Uni is going to be even less fun today
Will HWR get a train to Tottenham Hale?
Will HWR get stranded at Liverpool Street during rush hour?
Find out later on Greater Anglia Z

I try my hardest not to swear in front of my daughter but when that snow hit my skin she may have learnt a new word
Alas these things can’t be helped. She’s pick it up sooner or later anyway. Besides now she knows what to do to make you swear, she can take full advantage by doing it then telling YOU off for swearing. Isn’t it great how these things work out?

Halfway point in work wondering if the heating is actually, you know, on

We usually had 3 or 4 days off every Winter for snow or ice, it was nice to have off at that time, but not so nice because some of the make-up days were at the end of the school year, cutting into our summer vacation.

I'm probably one of the few people who can say they got a day off school for RADIATION, though! I live only 10 miles from the Three Mile Island nuclear power plant, and I was a senior in high school when the TMI partial meltdown occurred back in 1979 - schools were closed and we evacuated to our Grandparent's house near Philadelphia for a couple of days. Yep, those were the days...

The simple answer is; it isn’t because that’s cost your bosses money.
I'm honestly surprised the heating was functional on the overground train I took, then again I'm amazed I could get one at all. They're really trying to get people into Central

That one is definitely not a common reason to have a day off.

Wait... the trains usually use sound cancelling stuff? However would you hear the announcements?
