The Dark Knight

I just returned home from watching it, did I enjoy this film a lot? Hell yeah, however...

All these who say this was "The Jokers show" I fail to see it. Heath Ledger did a very good job as the Joker easily better than the portrayal in the original, he was a serious character who enjoyed chaos instead of being a cheap villian only interested in money. His performance was very good, at best, not great. Saying he deserves an award is just out of pity, to be honest. I'm serious here [in b4 "Why so serious?"] I'm not saying this to make you rage, all of you were praising the **** out of him and I saw the trailer a few times, I was even believing some of you, but the final result was lacking, definately too much hype.

With that said I raged over what happened to Wayne's love interest and I also raged when Gordon was... y'know, but that turned out differently.

All in all A+ movie, would watch again.

I often fail to see what others do in things which are over-hyped, but for once it was well deserved. Even though Ledger is dead, I wouldn't have let that get in the way of me panning his performance if it had deserved it. He didn't. He was brilliant. As was Bale. As was Eckhart, but Ledger stole the show in my opinion because you didn't see Heath Ledger. You saw The Joker. And that is the best compliment you can give to an actor.

I thought killing off Rachel was a very brave and unexpected twist, which really paid off. Also I wasn't too bothered because (one of my few criticisms) I did think Maggie Gyllenhaal was trying a bit too hard.

You raise a good point, however, I am no longer going to persist in going against it, I just didn't think he was that great others did, you can argue against me all you want, my opinion won't change same goes for you all, I can't change what you think in the long run. I acknowledge his performance as a notable one, but just not the level everyone else has.

I had a HUGE problem with killing off Rachel. They'd "Killed off" Jim Gordon earlier only to bring him back, so when Rachel died I found myself not caring.

i wont argue wiv ya but i still think heath ledgers performance as the joker was so cool, now im completely obsessed with his joker character i think it out shadowed all of the other characters apart from batman of course, lol. but people have diffrent opinions so you know i wont have a temper tantrum lol.
he's got to get an oscar, and not out of pity either that was a well worth it performance. :D

The only thing I ever liked about the Joker was his laugh when he pushed Racheal Dawes out the window and that random moment when everyone was clapping and praising Gordon on his promotion and the Joker is just there... clapping. It was some what amusing.

If I hear, 'why so serious?' one more time, argh.
You know, outside the internet I haven't heard anyone actually say it. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones.
I used to listen to "Don't take life so seriously, you won't get out of it alive anyway" a lot, never heard "why so serious" outside the net as well....

I've heard it. Granted, it was only a handful of times, but still enough to annoy me. Overkill, you know?
I rememeber the horror when the Borat movie came out. Now THAT was overkill.
