~The avatar thread~

Read The Wavering of Haruhi Suzumiya this week, and this picture of Haruhi was in the colour inserts at the end. It's from the part in 'Love at First Sight' when Haruhi catches Kyon's 'letter of confession' to Nagato after he throws it out of the window. I think the picture sums up her reaction to reading the note so well, I had to scan it and make it an avatar.

Mine is of Jigen from Lupin III, as I am completely obsessed with it at the moment, I just got it from google images a while back and cropped it down a bit so it was better for an avatar.

I might change to a Goemon one sometime though, as I find him the funniest character most the time, or maybe a Zenigata one.

I'm feeling some His And Her Circumstances, arguably the best high school rom-com ever made.
Possibly, the only one good enough to be kept alive in our memories....
True, School Rumble is the only one that can actually compete in my opinion, it was good for the comedy side of things and the way the characters interacted was better than the standard fare of rom-coms, if it had the same character development of His And Her Circumstances then I would find it harder to pick. Everything else I've watched or read to date that claims to be a rom-com is just a comedy.

School Rumble is not a rom-com, for me at least, it's purely comedy.

Karekano also had a believable relationship in the plot, which adds to it immensely.

It failed a conclusive ending.. :?
Anime or manga? I thought the manga ending was great. The anime drops the story of the manga quite early!

My comment about School Rumble was mainly because I can still watch it without cringing. If it had good character development (which would include romance in my opinion) then School Rumble would be a better show and more comparable to H&SC, it's casting was certainly a lot better than most so called rom-coms out there in my opinion, it's a shame that the characters were so one dimensional.

Then again these kind of shows are all flawed, most of them seem to be watered down versions of their manga counterparts, so I can only really see them as an elaborate form of advertisement.

Samon's facial expressions in Blast of Tempest episode 9 were absolutely priceless, so he gets the honour of being my latest avatar.
