studio ghilbi

Nausicáá of the Valley of the Wind
Totoro
Spirited away

(there's a few that are close to the top 3 are Porco rosso, Count of cagliostro and mononoke)

Technically Nausicaa is not a Ghibli movie as the studio was founded after the completion of the movie, officially Laputa is the first movie created and released by studio Ghibli.

Really hard to rate the ghibli films for me. I'd prolly have Princess Mononoke on top (The Nausicaa Manga however is the fave thing Myazaki has time) but the rest are really hard. Excluding the Takahata stuff (Aside from Grave his films are so so) all I would rate high for various reasons. The weakest (to me) is clearly Porco Rosso, but everything else is pretty outstanding.

If I was forced to it:

Princess Mononoke
My Neighbour Totoro
Whisper of the Heart

But that makes me want to bite my hand off!

Nausicáá of the Valley of the Wind

This, This and This

I have to agree with Myazaki's own reasoning on this - that the ending wasn't great. He said so himself. The Manga however is one of the best stories I have ever read, with a much better conclusion (Which also could be considered incomplete, but is far less contrived)

However it is still a brilliant film, and very evocative, I would just say that it doesn't stand up to myazaki's other epic, Princess Mononoke.
