Soul Eater

To be honest I didn't even try it out when it first came out, but I saw a music video at Amecon for this series and the artwork blew me away. As soon as I got home I started watching it and I am totally addicted the characters are brilliantly twisted especially Stein and the Zombiefied teacher and Death the Kid's weird phobia made me laugh as well as the Black Star the loudest stealth assassin there is. Defiantely a series i will keep following

Still loving the show (liking recent developments with Crona in particular), still it seems to have gone off on a bit of a tangent with this whole Arachnaphobia organisation - the episodes building up to the demon gods revival were spectacular, but it seems like it's lulled a little. No bad thing, since the story needs a breather I feel - just wondering how closely it's following the manga, and when we're likely to get back into the Demon God plotline.

It does look fun, though I've yet to watch. *Jots down on "to watch list".
The only thing I have against it is the use of "Shinigami"... seriously, they're getting overused! But, from what I've herd, they have gone in an interesting direction. Something about their weapons being the main focus of the series? Sounds like Shaman King, but that's a good thing IMO.

Will check this out when I get the chance when I find the willpower.

I know what you mean about being over used, but this is used in a totally different way; This shinigami is quite funny and unserious.

And, yep, the main characters go together in pairs: There is one weapon wielder (forgot the "official" name) and he other transforms into a weapon!

It really is a great fun series that is well worth watching! :D

So... er, how did this one end? good/bad? I'm assuming average, but I'd like to know the opinions of people that followed it to the end. I stopped watching around the time it begun to get a bit interesting (episode 19 or something).

Claymore filler ending or Fullmetal Alchemist filler ending?

I thought the series was really great as a whole, good enough to justify buying the dvd's when Manga release them. Although i felt the 2nd half(27-51) wasn't quite as good as the first, but i would still give it a 9/10 overall.

As for the ending i have no idea if its filler or not lol. But tbh the last episode ends in a pretty lame fashion which is a real shame, so its probably filler.

I didn't wanna comment on what happens and ruin it, but i hope this was helpful.

Yeah, thanks actually. I think if I get a hold of another episode (or buy the DVD) I might put the effort in to finish it off at some point. Buying the DVDs sounds better to me at this stage.

I think it became clear that the series would have an original ending when Death city turned into a mecha that would make LordGenome envious.
But for all its flaws, the ending was pulled off pretty well. As for the rest of the series, very much worth buying- especially for those new to anime, and those who enjoy something with a bit of a different style.

Ah yes, and the manga looks as if it will be worth a look, especially with those hint towards the end of the anime involving the Kid..

I'm yet to finish the anime itself i admit, however i remember discussing and comparing the manga to it with JamesX a while back, and he told me it was a fairly closed ending. I admit i'm never the biggest fan for when that happens, but it doesn't mean it ruins it. I would have liked to have seen more of what is taking place in the manga animated though, even if we would have to wait for the series to finish, however long that'd be, as it certainly doesn't look like ending anytime soon, unlike FMA.

As Arby said, we talked about the Anime ending a while back and even though it does drift off at some point mainly around castle Baba Yaga and a few changes before that if I remember correctly.
It's still great pretty much all the way through, except when death city started to move, that seemed kind of stupid to be honest, it was like watching Gurren Lagann again, and it has a nicely done ending. Even if it did make turning the weapons into death scythes seem pointless.
Like Arby though I would have liked more of the Manga animated and hopefully it will be at some point when the Manga is coming to a close, but no time soon.
