With the franchise possibly getting an official Western release at some point I'd definitely recommend either Frontier or Delta for beginners. Nice 25/26 episode series with the best pacing and length out of the main series. For movies I'd recommend Do You Remember Love as a great retelling of the SDF series. Each instalment works really well standalone so you don't have to worry so much about where to start. Sometimes it doesn't even matter what is canon tbh.

And yeah Freyja's a joy to watch. One of my favourite characters for sure

Awesome stuff, thanks for the top tips for watch suggestions. Very much hoping I can find them amongst one of the multiple streaming platforms!

Yeah unfortunately since it's Macross it's not available on any legal sites at the moment. With Big West and Harmony Gold finally coming to an agreement and Funimation set to release Robotech it's more likely it'll show up on Funimation at some point.

Yes that was my fear but hopeful it will come on to the usual suspects in the future. Not to worry, I have far too much to catch up on in the interim regardless and am already pretty daunted by Gundam that I am yet to work into my watchlist! Thanks for the info on where to start with Macross, whenever I can eventually get it, though.
