@Spyro, if you’d have stayed in the chat longer than a few seconds earlier in the evening you’d have seen me post that I predict aion to post something ridiculous into the thread.

Yeah, I also knew that when I posted praise about Toradora! that Aion would likely slate it. At least that's about anime. I also knew that openly loving Bleach would ask for Lupus/Aion to to slate it. Same thing. Ilmaestro can back that up, but whatever, I don't even want to go there.

merely said that anyone who backs terrorism is by default a terrorist, like the police would class someone ina crime as being "a party to" even if they themselves didn't do anything, the point they where there or agreed with it means their just as guilty. its a point of law really.

Last I recall, the sentancing for someone who is merely a party to the crime is generally significantly lower than that of someone who commited the crime. There will be exceptions at the judges discretion, however, sentancing guidelines to say those who are merely a party to the crime get a lesser sentance, and therefore.

Anyway, its relaxed.. but it did work as an experiment,

Finally, I'd just like to mention that any experiment requires informed consent and must follow ethical guidelines ;) We weren't informed, and potentially offending people (in Rui's words- I didn't see the original post) does seem unethical.

Dude, I'd like to see the boards active, but to be honest I think they are. The anime section has quite a few posts, and new topics being churned out as Rui mentioned. I can't say I agree with this as a way of "Trying to get the place more active". Lets face it, it's not like it's putting the forum in a good light. If the post was offensive enough to warrant being deleted, then I'm going to assume that it was not the kind of post to be displayed in any sort of "General conversation area/What you're doing" or whatever thread it was from. Things that are potentially offensive should be in threads that are clearly tasked with debating such an issue. I think you could have got just as much controversy/activity by creating a thread specifically tasked with debating such an issue- Heck, I created a thread related to an ethical Law issue that triggered plenty of debate, conflicting opinions, but didn't offend anyone.

But whatever man, it's your choice. I just felt there was a better way of going about it.

But what about the posters that thread will offend; those who don't celebrate Christmas? Oh, the horror!

They can talk about Annual Present Exchange Day instead, like I do. I don't think anyone is seriously offended by festivals, other than people intent on trolling.

I'm offended by your serious lack of christmas spirit and trying to suppress the christian belief in christmas by masking its name with this blasphemy you titled "Annual Present Exchange Day"

Call it what it is, if i have to be politically correct, even in the course of public science experiments. Then so do you.

Spyro; as i said, i know that it didn't look too good. but anyway, things are sorted now. off to the pub now

I stand by my assertion that this thread needs nuking, preferably from orbit. What should happen when a post is moderated is that the person whose post was moderated should either a) take it on the chin, or b) take it to the moderator responsible via PM. This is a most unedifying spectacle.

Btw, FYI, someone whose idea of anime perfection is Burst Angel/Naruto and most enjoyed pastime is "pub crawlin wid da lads" is more likely to throw in the troll card to avoid stupidity being highlighted.

To act like Borat and be able to throw a "....NOT!" at the end of sentences, one needs a surprising amount of intelligence. Stupidity isn't easy to replicate when you're smart - take it from me.

I'm not Christian by the way, so of course I don't celebrate Christmas. I celebrate another holiday which is the commercialised Annual Present Day thing, it just happens to fall on the same day :p. Kind of like Christmas itself and Saturnalia, eh?

But Christians are welcome to talk about Christmas. This is common sense and doesn't threaten my Present Day celebration.

Anyway, locking time, the sensible stuff can trickle out to other threads and the silliness can die a death as I knew it would have to eventually.

And Aion, you're in trouble.

R
