Overseas Rightstuf Xmas Sale 2016

So I've just been updated that my rightstuf package is being fulfilled by Swiss post, does this determine anything customs wise? Before my order was fulfilled by US postal service and I got done for customs fees (and a heavy amount at that-the package was worth more and was bigger but still the amount was ridiculous)

If it's Swiss post then you shouldn't get caught by customs.

My last order from them was the code geass LE and the last leg was by Swiss post before Royal Mail and that got to me custom free.

Hmm... I feel location could be a factor. I remember ordering sets to my home address and they got through without fault while ones at Uni got hit a couple times.

Well as long as it doesn't cost me £80 then it's already less painful if it does get hit. Out of interest how much were the fees? Were they the usual Royal Mail ones (£8 handling fee+additional?)

It'll be Royal Mail. So that's 20% of the total item price (not including shipping cost) and the £8 Royal Mail fee.
 
Thank you for the information :) that'll mean my fees will be £22 which isn't too bad considering I saved £41.05 buying from Rightstuf as opposed to Wow HD where I usually get my imports

I always thought the shipping was counted as part of the total package value. It has been whenever I've imported something, but I've never ordered from Rightstuf

Everytime I've been hit by customs it's always been the 20% item price and mail fee, despite what others have said. (oh well)
 
It may well vary from person to person, there are likely various factors involved (i.e location). I'll just have to wait and see:cool: If the fees aren't too bad I'll potentially make another order at around the same price ($100ish)
Edit: does anyone have a clue at what price and size a rightstuf package is too big/expensive for Swiss post?
