Yeah, I fell way behind on basically everything apart from the three I mentioned in the post above, but caught up with everything apart from Needless about two weeks ago.
I agree with you about Kobato. It's a nice series, but not great. I'm glad I'm caught up now, because marathoning a few eps of it was not so entertaining, but one a week is nice enough.
Aoi Bungaku has been the second best show this season after Railgun, imo. Not quite in the same league as the best-show-since-Gankutsuou (Mouryou no Hako), but yeah, very reminiscent. Very much looking forward to the last two eps. I like that they decided right from the off that they were going to be pretty liberal with their adaptations of the source materials. Ningen Shikkaku is not a fun book, and I think they were always intending to make a fun series (of a sort), but I still think they were able to capture some of the essence.
I was moderately surprised that that got four eps and Kokoro only got two, at first, but supposing they had the manner of the adaptations planned out well in advance, it makes sense when you see what they did with each of them. Sakura no Mori... was just an outstanding bit of animation, as good a two episode arc as you'll find in any series. Hashire Melos! was slightly meh, as I thought they didn't really do enough with the added-in content. Given the brevity of the original, I would have been happy enough with a one episode direct adaptation like the Akutagawa stories are getting.
