Rejoice Social outsiders, it's the Autumn series thread!

Yeah, they announced the second season of Natsu no Arashi a bit ago. Also bare excited for that, really enjoyed the first season in the end.

edit: yeah, probably six shows at most from that list I want to follow, need to have a bit more of an in-depth look myself but still it seems to be pretty shoddy for the biggest season of the year.

Wow, it turns out there are far more series from this season that have me interested than I first thought:

Kimi ni Todoke
Natsu no Arashi 2
Queen's Blade 2
To Aru Kagaku no Railgun
Tegamibatchi
Kobato
Aoi Bungaku Series
Fairy Tail
Kiddy GiRL-AND
Kampfer

And possibly Book of Bantorra and Seiken no Blacksmith, but they look weaker and that's too many shows already.

So far from post 1 I'm only up for Inu Yasha, and I'm happy to wait a long time for a boxed set even then ;)

Why Rui?? Inu Yasha is horrible horrible stuff. i can't stand it.
Correct me if i'm wrong but its from the same "Era" of Ranma 1/2 and Nija scroll. Now Ranma is alright and i'm yet to watch ninja scroll.....but having seen a few eps of Inu Yasha it was terrible.

Just out of interest, what about it appeals to you?

(btw...for the motherly figure of the forums...your not about much :( )

On topic. the Fairy tail Faery tale (whatever) looks alright. Might take a ganders at it. Apart from that....not much in terms of interesting things to watch (Darker than black i'm yet to see so dunno if i'll like it)

I saw a bit about Fairy Tale earlier today while searching for that compo. Never knew it was One Piece art style, so I guess it is by the same guy. I will assume it to be awesome by association.

Don't make that mistake ever again. It's by Hiro Mashima, the guy who done Rave Master. It is, however, pretty awesome. One Piece, for reference, is by Eiichiro Oda.

Hey Tachi, I love Inu Yasha as well. Inu Yasha is actually from the same author as Ranma.

Ninja scrolll might have come out at the same time, but it's completely unrelated to any of these shows. It's much more darker and violent than both shows together.

What attracts me to Inu Yasha? I really like Takahashi's way of story telling, even though some say it gets repetitive after a while.

well.....now that you mention it...the characters do look similar.
Awell....i still prefer Ranma 1/2.

As were talking about styled generations of anime....there's the older style (like the mentioned above, ranma 1/2, Inu Yasha and ninja scroll) then you have present style...like FMA, Naruto. Bleach. you know the current mainstream stuff. then you have the future (?) the digital Cell shaded anime..... Do you think it's a step in the right direction or should the current style be called the best style?

Me personally...i prefer the present style.

That discussion needs it's own thread.

Go Tachi, go! :p

Not a lot; hence being happy to wait years for a set rather than care about it now. I would say Inu Yasha is a lot closer to modern anime such as Bleach/Naruto than it is to Ranma aside from the obvious style/creator link and it enjoyed enormous American popularity when it was airing there a few years back. It's high quality and still looks quite modern, even if the plot gets dragged into the abyss long before the end in an effort to keep it going (which the new series is to correct, hence my reawakened interest).

I like Ranma much more than I like Inu Yasha (and Maison Ikkoku more than both). But Inu Yasha still looked like the best of the bunch in post one ;)

You have to remember that as an older fan I'm used to Rumiko Takahashi's art style and sense of humour, so seeing a familiar face like Inu Yasha is a tonic amongst the weak shows in the first part of the list. I also like Ninja Scroll, though I cannot think of anything at all it has in common with the other two you mentioned. It's far older than Inu Yasha and has a very different audience in mind.

Hey Lupus called me that, I never said it ;)

I almost never log in during the day because I have work; I tend to patrol out of hours. I check in dozens of time a day though and read everything. Even the more surreal parts of that weird three word story thing which slightly disturbs me most of the time.

The only thing I've watched so far from this season was episode 1 of Kobato. And it was adorable :3

I also have nyan episodes 1 and 2 on my external HDD, but that involves getting up, getting the drive and then plugging it in ;)
