This month I'm probably most happy about having more My Happy Marriage, Moonlit Dusk and finally March Comes in Like a Lion! I'm very happy about the Haikyu artbook as well, particularly as I managed to get it for £14 which is an absolute steal when RRP is £40 (I think it was mispriced when it got added to the store I bought it from ). Also finally got around to buying the next volume of The Ancient Magus' Bride I needed since I spotted it locally. Has been a difficult to find anywhere that had it in stock for a reasonable price, so holding off seems to have been the answer in this case.

A lot of the Japanese stuff was on sale so I picked those up for that read, so they'll likely sit in my backlog for awhile. Insomniacs gets me caught up to the current release, so depending on how the story goes I imagine there will be some wailing from me once I get to there. Also sad that This Vampire Won't Give Up comes to its end this month.

Ghost & Witch is a new series from The Ancient Magus' Bride author, which I am surprised hasn't been licensed but I imagine it'd go to Seven Seas so I probably wouldn't be as interested in an English release anyway at this point...

Mostly me picking up on-going titles and some new Japanese stuff digitally. Was disappointed with My Wife is a Little Intimidating so unlikely to carry on with that. Vaguely hoping the One Room of Happiness spin-off gets picked up by Square Enix for English, but no sign so far and I've been watching the drama recently so that got me interested in the spin-off all over again. The Horimiya release is a volume '17', which has been released to celebrate the new anime season.

Nah I ended up buying it since I knew I definitely wanted to read it. I don't think Seven Seas usually partake in the free trials, so it's unlikely they'd do that in the West sadly.

I imagine that the last one will be picked up for English when it's a few more volumes in, but if it went with Seven Seas again I probably won't bother with the English release so may as well start reading it now. Also picked up a volume of Rent-A-Girlfriend I needed to fill a gap since Bookwalker had a decent coin back promotion at some point.

I buy most of my manga from Blackwells and they ship them in Mail Lite bubble padded envelopes via Whistl logistics.

A few new things but largely continuing ongoing series. Super HxEros finally finishes, which I didn't think I would feel happy about but the last few volumes have felt like padding. Picked up My Wandering Warrior Eating Disorder digitally since SS said they have no plans for print (it's only 50~ pages and 3 chapters). Probably the thing I have been the most pleased about is That Time A Manga Editor Started a New Life in the Countryside, which I feel deals with burnout really well. Hoping it'll make it to print eventually as it's definitely one I would like to own physically.

An avalanche of review materials turning up as well as new releases and some backlog titles I wanted to buy for myself has resulted in a mighty haul for this month. Catching up with Frieren after friends told me the arc I'm stuck on gets significantly better and picked up Shangri-la Frontier due to the influence of the anime as well. Picked up Iyahaya Atami-kun and Diamond no Kouzai due to their ranking in This Manga is Amazing! Go Go Loser Ranger was free, so figured I'd give it a go. Otherwise mostly keeping up with franchises I've been following for awhile. You Like, Not My Daughter?! was finally on sale and I've been enjoying the light novel a lot so figured I'd pick that up. Likewise for Dahlia where I love the LN and this manga hasn't been licensed yet (SS have a different one).

Here's to 2024 being another good book year!

Like with my print pick-ups, largely just continuing on with things I had been buying beforehand. Was delighted to have 聴けない夜は亡い volume 3, as that only comes out once a year or so due to its irregular schedule (although maybe more now the author has completed their other series...?). 春と夏となっちゃんと秋と冬と僕 is by the Old-Fashioned Cupcake Author, which I knew I had to have after enjoying Old-Fashioned Cupcake with Cappuccino. Meanwhile, 地上100メートルで、逢いましょう is by Mamita, the となりのメタラーさん author which I was reading last month. Since I'd enjoyed that as well as Don't Touch, Little Star (available on Manga Planet), I figured I may as well slowly dive into their catalogue as well.

I'll be interested to find out what you think of the Sagan Sagan 春と夏となっちゃんと秋と冬と僕 (Les Saisons, Nacchan et Moi in the French Hana edition which is a little more compact!) I hope you'll enjoy it - originally I read this one before Old Fashion Cupcake came out and it's very different. And agreeing that Mamita is just very good... I see that Kuma have picked up their 2-part Haberdashery Genmoukusei for a US physical release in English... but in a whole year's time!!

Oooh I did not know they'd licensed it, will have to keep an eye out for it next year (such a long time to wait...). I recently read The Song of Yoru & Asa from Kuma (still need to buy the sequel), which I really enjoyed and being my first purchase from that imprint it certainly sold me on the quality of their output overall. It's just a shame that like Denpa they struggle so much with release dates and keeping stock Out There longterm. This reminds me that I should pick up The (Pet) Detective Agency before it disappears from everywhere.

The physical releases definitely seem to vanish rather too swiftly so I'd say go for it while it's there! As well as Mamita's Haberdashery, they're also supposed to be bringing out Hategaikaku no Bannin by Lily Hoshino (she's been taking a rather long maternity break, which I praise her for doing, but it'll be good to see her new works) and the third volume of Happy of the End by Ogeretsu Tanaka which is due in October. But when I've pre-ordered Kuma titles, they haven't always come out when promised, so I'm biding my time... Also, there hasn't been an official announcement about these, I think, I'm beholden to a helpful nudge from another fan. And, sadly, they seem to be saying that they won't continue with ZAKK so maybe we won't see The Speaker .

I just hope Kuma continue with Harada; I'm also a fan and I think you'll like the sequel to The Song of Yoru & Asa. I have a feeling they're bringing out Yata-Momo next. If I'm honest, I'm not such a fan of that title - but you may well feel differently and I'm always happy to have my mind changed by persuasive writing/reviewing!
