Aye, Snakebite is well nice.
The only alcoholic drink to ever make me violently ill. Others have given me memory loss and made me pass out, but even thinking about Snakebite now... Never again.

I've been on the alcoholic's special as of late - 8 cans of Tetley's for £6. It might sound kinda sad but I don't really have people to go drinking with anymore... :(

Go to your nearest Co-Op carlsberg 8 cans for £6 :p

and yeah i've had snakebites with blackcurrant cordial. its refreshing, just slightly more so than usual snakebite :)

The one thing that i refuse to drink and never will touch the stuff ever again is rum/bacardi.

my parents drink bacardi and coke at the weekends and can go through a bottle easily. now last year i went to egypt with them and the first night i was there we started having some bacardi cokes, i kept up with them for most of the night, going drink for drink. until about 2-3am....where the bacardi they where applying was 4-5ths bacardi and 1/5th coke....this thing was near transparent. and drinking pints of it was very quickly getting to me.

i can be fine one minute....and small things have been known to just trigger the alcohol into a violent effect on my body....(i don't become violent) basically i was fine stood at the bar waiting to be served....the i decided to rock back and forth on my feet to the beet of the music....that was enough to trigger it, my dad had to come and steady me as i seemed to loose my balance in a split second. took me back to the table where i leant over the wall and was throwing my guts up......yes a lovely sight lol
so anyway....i remember the whole night....unfortunately...
and its the most drunk i've ever been. i got back to the room and was drinking bottles of water simply for it to be thrown up seconds later, i was falling asleep by the toilet when my dad told me i have to move....he needs the toilet...so i remember just crawling from the bathroom into my room and climbing into bed and putting myself into the recovery position (good old NHS skills ;) ) and laid on my front so if i had thrown up in my sleep...i wouldn't have killed myself :p

Slept the whole of the following day....thats the worste i've ever been. and to this day....haven't drank bacardi since.

Do you have it with blackcurrent codial? Some people say snakebite comes with it anyways, others just have it without.

To me its lager, cider and blackcurrent. I hear some people add a shot of sambuca in it, I gotta try that sometime. hehe

There are several different versions of snakebite with different names. I will try to name the ones I or friends tried, but it has been a long time since I did this and can't be sure they are right.

Snakebite = Cider and Larger
Snakebite and black = Cider, Larger and Blackcurrent
Snake Venom = Cider, Larger and Blackcurrent with a shot of Vodka (a variant has whisky, but I am not sure if that is still venom)
Anaconda = Cider and Bitter

Wiki has more and different versions.

I managed to get a guy that had never drunk snakebite and black before to paint his kitchen purple when he threw up.

Except Carlsberg = Lager = Shite. (IMHO, of course)

I'll stick to my Tetley's thanks. :p

I don't like the idea of drinking to the point of being drunk/ passing out, i generally think getting to the point you pass out is pathetic, more so if it becomes something you do weekly. I know some people will disagree, but thats just usual. I do find it a shame that people do find it necessary to be at least tipsy to enjoy the night though, surely one or two would be enough if any at all? =/

Yeah, I hate it too.
It annoys me even more when people seem proud of how drunk they got the night before/how many times they hurled. Honestly I can think of so many better ways to enjoy myself then going out and getting smashed, but at my age it's the only thing anybody wants to do.
I like to drink enough to get me comfortably drunk, then just top myself up if I start feeling too sober.

I agree to some extent, but I think occasionally it's nice to surrender control and not care too much what you do / say.

I generally think its one of those things that happens around the teens/uni years really as everyone wants to do it and such, but i still don't agree with it, more so on a weekly basis.

@Ayase: I guess to an extent, say, when exams are on, you could want a day where you blank everything out, maybe after you've finished them, then yeah i can see why then, but its the whole weekly thing that gets to me, and thats what happens here at home(not at me flat)

Fortunately, I have a defence against getting completely inebriated:

1) I live in a very expensive city;
2) I don't have much money;
3) I'm a miser.

These three factors prevent all symptoms of drunkenness, and as a corollary allow for more time spent on internet forums.

The French cidre isn't bad either.
Best beer I've had is called Trade Winds (had it a while back during this beer festival in Aberdeen).

I don't normally spend much money on drink either, and when I do I tend to drink alone haha, but now that I'm back in Hungary, should have a few drinks, they're so much cheaper here. A pint's somewhere around a pound.

i don't think its big or clever when people take pride in how sh**faced they got at the weekend and how much they threw up or had drunken moments captured on film.

i prefer to go out and socialize with my mates, have a good night out dancing to music, laughing and joking with mates and look forward to the sleep when i get home. somehow its just so much nicer than any normal sleep. maybe because i'm abit numb and just drift on into slumberland :)

drunken photo's and when eveyone knows something you did the other night....but you don't recall a single thing about what their talking about. its not cool.

on a different note.....i had a good weekend :p
