Shiver me timbers, if it isn’t the UK’s most requested anime series! Featuring the first 26 episodes of the smash hit anime, One Piece: Collection 1 follows rubber-limbed Monkey D. Luffy and his crew of Straw Hat Pirates as he searches for the fabled One Piece treasure in a bid to become the next King of the Pirates. Super-powered action, barrels of laughs and occasional tear-jerking moments await Luffy and friends as they set sail on the ultimate of sea adventures. A true anime classic!

<strong>Synopsis:</strong>

Monkey D. Luffy is a boy with big dreams. This daring rubber-man refuses to let anyone or anything stand in the way of his quest to become king of all pirates. With a course charted for the treacherous waters of the Grand Line, Luffy strikes out in search of a crew &ndash; and a boat. Along the way he&rsquo;ll do battle with scallywag clowns, fishy foes, and an entire fleet of marines eager to see him walk the plank. The stakes are high, but with each adventure, Luffy adds a new friend to his crew of Straw Hat Pirates! Like his hero Shanks, this is one captain who&rsquo;ll never drop anchor until he&rsquo;s claimed the greatest treasure in the world &ndash; the Legendary One Piece!

Available from Sainsbury's too but at a lower price than Amazon.

I guess it's convenient for Manga and Anime but why do we always default to Amazon?

Amazon probably gives a small return of money in return of a successful purchase.
Edit: https://affiliate-program.amazon.co.uk/

Oh you cynic! I'm not a part of the affiliate program. That's just a simple link. I saw the RRP on the press release and did a quick search for a cheaper price from a legit merchant that people will most likely use and used that as part of the report. As much as I like reporting news I do not have the time to trawl through supermarket webpages because I'm revising for tests (taking a break at the minute). The consumer can do this.

You can always go to www.find-dvd.co.uk and link to their search results page, that way you get Amazon, the Hut Group and a couple others as well. Less bias, and just one place to search...

But that link does have an affiliate code in.

reborn's cynicism is well placed. You might not be part of the affiliate program, but the link on the article does have Anime UK News dot net's affiliate code in it.
tag=londexplnetw-21

The tag part of the URL marks an affiliate in Amazon. The londexplnetw is Anime UK News' affiliate code all this sites links out to Amazon have that. The -21 part marks that it's a UK code. I know this because Otaku News and the Otaku Calendar (the sites I help to run) are also an Amazon affiliates, and we'd never deny this. Be honest to your readers. They deserve it.

I saw ref and assumed it relates somehow to the program. No need to freak out over it.

Guys, Genkina Hito might just not have known ^^

I can confirm Chaos uses Amazon affiliate links to contribute towards the hosting since we don't have ads etc. Further reading on the general situation here.

spooky stuff

That's a known bug, all news stories post as the creepy Guest account since the forum upgrade :/

Fair enough

Now, if I'm reading it right by following a link from here to Amazon, anything I buy in that session will credit this website with up to 10% of the price paid. Now I don't buy much from Amazon but there's no reason why I couldn't follow a link in from here and then buy what I was after assuming that'd work.

Pretty much what Rui said. I have no idea how the affiliate program works. If I did I'd use it for my own blog and work on that full time. I think I wasn't posting news as frequently when this was implemented earlier on in the year.

@Reborn: That's not me freaking out. I tend not to reply to arguments because, as ilmaestro once schooled me, arguing over the internet is not cool. If you look hard enough on here (although I can't imagine why anybody would) you can find instances where I've embarrassed myself more (although my news stories are pretty embarrassing in and of themselves). I just felt the need to clarify my position. Now that I know that AUKN gets 10% on sales through the affiliate program I'll put Amazon links on everything I post about :)

@Reborn: I think I forgot to apologise in my last comment so sorry if my reply came off a bit too strong. No offence intended.

Thanks for the apology. Though I realised by morning myself, that I took your reply a bit strong too as well.

Guess I don't need to feel guilty for raising the question in the 1st place now :D
