Wayhayy, i'm back.
Right then, first off - ( And sorry to bring up things from the past, but lack of being able to post for the last few days has forced me to do so. Bloody work, it's doing my head in.
)
I just want to tidy up a few loose ends.

Just where did I mention that I didn't appreciate their effort?
You didn't, and I neither aimed that insult DIRECTLY at you either. ;/
My apologies, I was in a bit of a bad mood that day, and the structure of your post gave me the impression that it was aimed at me, even if indirectly.

I said it sounded too similar to the ADV and Funimation DVDs that I own, I know from experience that a lot of the voice actors they're using have a varied range.
Luci Christian and Chris Sabat I'll agree on on the voice range thing, but everyone else is fine.

but in that clip they seem to just be using their generic anime voices.
Elabourate on "generic anime voices" Considering Eiichiro Oda the CREATOR of One Piece approved of these voices used.
What I meant by this was - The voices sounded 'too' much like the voices in countless other anime that they have done, in my mind they already somewhat belong to other characters.
For example - Luci Christian, the voice she uses in the clip is 'so' similar to a lot of her other roles that it's difficult to tell them appart. Her voice for Nami sounds so much like Kaname from Full Metal Panic that it's a little offputting. :?
Certain voices get linked to certain roles, but as she's used this voice for other things too, and I didn't have 'that' much problem adapting, maybe it's just the quality of the clip, or the fact that I havn't sat and watched a couple of episodes to properly judge.
Again, sorry for the agressive tone earlier, but it 'did' seem at the time that it was aimed at me.
And i'm not touching the 'which is better = Sub or Dub' debate with a 10 foot pole.
Other languages sound exotic to non speakers, and rightly or wrongly, a lot of pro Sub people say they prefer the original because the Dub acting is bad, but, how can they tell the original isn't bad also?
I like both Sub 'and' Dub, and personally, I think that whichever language you watch something in first, subconsiously becomes the 'propper' version from then on. As a lot of people watch fan-subs, then it stands to reason that the Japanese is the one that they prefer.
